Help me with home audio question.

I recently purchased my first flat-panel display, an entry level 32" Samsung - which looks great but just sounds "pretty good" - not as good as my 2.1 stereo. On the back are two HDMI inputs, one USB, a group of Red/Blue/Green (Component?) plugs, and L/R (Red and White) RCA Audio. There are no outputs. What I want to be able to do is deliver HD video to the display, but send the audio signal to the stereo, which uses a single 3.5mm input. What cables/adapters do I need? My current source is a laptop, but in the future will be using a Blu-Ray player or Sony PlayStation 3.

Run a 3.5mm (1/8", mini-jack) male to male cable from the line-out/headphone output jack on the laptop to the line in on the Sony Mini-HiFi.

Set your laptop's audio to 2.0 speaker output.

And just use the 32" Samsong for video/graphics.

thanks. It was a well-concealed software setting. I blame the inconvenience on Windows.
