Awesome.  Good choice!

 

Hope you have the right amp to do the HE-500 justice.  They don't sound good at all when incorrectly amped.  When properly amped, they are some of the most enjoyable headphones I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.

I am going to use O2 w/ ODAC... Both extremely good and still neutralI + I have SIPs for changing gain resistors installed inside so no problem in searching for the best sound.

 

What type of cable do you use with HE-500, canare, silver or something else?

Never had a chance to listen to the O2, but a quick search shows there isn't much of a difference with the HE-500 paired with the Lyr vs. the O2, so I think you'll be just fine.  Rule of thumb is you generally want to get at least  around 800 mW to 1 W of power into the HE-500 cause they're highly inefficient orthos.

 

I use the stock silver cable that comes with the later pairs of HE-500.  Paired with the LaFigaro 339, the HE-500 is magical.
