The awesome 3D resolution/ clarity of these Logan really gives them a crazy wide open sound, hence their wide staging is pretty amazing when you consider they are closed and how small the cups are. Plus they have a really transparent and revealing sound to them which i forgot to include in the write-up. They are transparent/ revealing in that it will pick up a lot of the micro details from the recording like i stated in my flour sifter analogy, but it's doesn't really make poorly recorded material sound like sh!T at the same time. It is revealing in the good way and won''t really give you ear rape/ etc etc as many "monitor" style cans does often, ie: sounds super harsh/ sibilant on brightly/ poorly recorded materials.

The bass is TEXTURED too..can almost pick out which part of the HIDE is used...lolz. ( its part of the HYPE.. more like skin from a bullock )

ABout glasses, i just slipped a pair of reading glasses on...

goodnews...the framestems just slippped right thru the space betw my face n the steel/aluminium spokes of the can.

ie..your glass frame is sitting ON TOP of the cups..not inbetwix the pads.

Just put on QUEENS...Bohemian Rhapsody...clear cacophony :P

^ I also wear glasses and have found that with small on-ear portables it's more comfy for me to just put my glasses on top of the cups and wear them that way. So the glasses basically sits on very top of the pads instead of getting squeezed by them which is really uncomfortable due to the clamp force/ possible break in seal from the glasses.

They don't fall off surprisingly. LoL

So, it was not HYPE, after all.  You state that what was previously relegated to HYPE in fact falls short of the Mikros 90's sonic actuality.  That's one for the Head-Fi record books.  Or do you also answer to the name, Master Hype?  : )

You will be the official Head-Fi Poster Child for the Mikros 90.

ehhh but i am already the Master of Da' HYPE, need i link my thread again???

meh Poster Child ain't my forte more like........

Same here, but wait I DID!!! That lame arse ebay 3rd party seller sent me a used set instead of a new set as the description stated, so Amazon gave me a $25 future credit cuz i decided to keep them instead of returning them. :)

All in all $63 for these Logans ain't half bad.

Am waiting for the FiiO RC MH1 to show up at my door, and to do the shoot-out with the Pipeline.  Based on what I have read so far, I am not expecting the FiiO to defeat the Pipeline, but who knows?  Based on what Master Troll reported about his experience with the FiiO's colorations, it doesn't sound like a direction I want to go in with the Mikros 90.

^ Personally i like the more tight/ punchy sound of the stock cable more than the slightly more airy sound of the V-Moda cable. I am actually looking for a cable that will bring more coloration to these Logans, specifically more warmth/ bass end presence.

So the "warmer" FiiO cable might do the trick, i'll see if i can get a set on with my connects. :)

^ Wasn't all that impressed with those X1s until i paired them with that Zu cable, those X1s didn't really WOW upon initial listening, but they are great sounding open cans but just falls slightly short for me due to their somewhat recessed mids.

Actually you can get them for $5 less from their ebay store, same seller and they ship "worldwide" as well. Hey a dollar saved is a dollar saved.

ehhh those MA900s are full size open backs meng. The Logans staging is pretty impressive for a set of small portable/ CLOSED back headphones. :smile_phones:

edit: oh and these probably are not the best for portable use cuz all the nuances and micro details comes alive in quiet night time listening, but might go over your head if there is a lot background noise around. Their magical sound is lost a bit in noisy environments cuz these don't have the bass quantity to block out all those external factors.....  this MIGHT be a deal breaker to some but stuff like this is always YMMV. Just an observation is all.

Best for quiet indoor meditation use. : P

lemme rephrase it, clicking on the 'Beat the price' on the right side, and filling the boxes -incl newegg MLM90 price link-, they mail you a discount code, so I paid $85 for each evil_smiley.gif

Amazon.

Hmm would it be a valid argument for committing me to the an asylum if I'd order this cable?

4 or 5 inch length, pure silver UPOCC +1%gold 26AVG, 8 wire flat litz braided, in a 3x2 transparent black insulator and 1x2 clear scheme, black heat shrinks, with an Oyaiide P-3.5SR (silver + rhodium plating) straight plug and if possible a matching connector

Such a thing probably cost 4 newegg shellshokcer Logan's haha a the least deadhorse.gif

OR just settle for the V-moda audio only cable tongue.gif

^ The egg and amazon both are good but amazon seems to have better service overall, so just get them from the place that is the cheapest is my motto. Worst Buy is the worst, but they do have physical locations so if you don't like them you can always return them there. But they seem to ALWAYS overprice their stuff so......

TBH the V-Moda cable is not really doing it for me, the sound seems to lose some of its body/ weight due to it's more airy/ softer quality when compared to the stock one but i is a semi-basshead so.........

Lowest price guarantee thingy on the right side sry, it lead to their 'beat the price'
The tax thing you mentioned, is that the 'Identification verification' cost? Is that normal? I very seldom lay shop online, but. I wasn't gonna complain, had finally found a way to get a Logan ship able to Belgium.

hmmm...almost pull the trigger on the Vmodacable yesterday.

Pulled out the connector at the Mikros cup to take a look at the size of that plug..

when i tried to reinsert it, the soundstage kinda collapsed, so i had to push n twist a little to get a good connection.

My point is...if u are not getting a huge big soundstage...check the connection.

They charge me taxes cuz they have shops, etc in the same state as me so...... international buyer probably don't have to pay extra taxes me thinks just shipping.
