Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 42

They are fuller and actually sounds much higher end now😲. Maybe because of volume increase....try them out and tell me I can't put my fingers on the thing but they are epic nonetheless 😎

I think the Mikros 90 are more detailed/resolving than the K70x.  The MLs are also great for running with tubes.  Mids on the Mikros 90 are clearer and better balanced IMHO.  The K701 had an upper midrange/lower treble glare that ultimately lead to my relinquishing them.  I think the Mikros 90 go deeper and are better resolved in the bass, too.

For me, it took about 200+ hours before the Mikros 90 settled down, whether attributed to actual burn-in or to my own psycho-acoustic perceptual adjustment.

Need to do an a/b: FiiO RC-MH1 v. Pipeline ET-4.

The Pipeline is definitely a few notches closer to high end than the stock cable, IMHO.

I'll order the FiiO with the kind permission/go-ahead of you all.  Shall I?  : )

Will the pipeline fit and where can I order them? 😊

I looked up the pipeline and they look like they wouldn't fit😞

Buying the martins tomorrow. I thought I could resist the temptation, but I'm going for it. :(

Be sure to compare them to your RE700!

Word of warning: these sound nothing like Audio Technicas (ATH WS99, ATH ESW9a, ATH M50, ATH A900x)!  Moreso AKG like, but with more bass.

So I should believe that the martins won't sound warm, thick, or wide in soundstage? (talking about the ws99). It will, however, sound more detailed and thicker than the a900x? Don't now about the esw9

They either do or don't as a function of production variances/tolerances.  Mine just barely squeaked in (requiring a bit of a force-fit).  PredatorZ had to whittle down the plug barrel to get his to fit.  ML specs call for an input plug barrel diameter of 1/4 inch (6.5 mm).

Will see if any hiend cables fit😎
