Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 376

The DT770/600 ohm might be coming in next week.

Have never heard the DT770, but will give them a shot, and put them in the ring with the "reigning" Mikros 90.

Almost pulled the trigger on a pair of T1--for my second time around with them--but decided not to.  They were selling brand new on Amazon for as little as $699/shipped last week.  Looks like Beyer might be clearing the T1 out(?).

Stock Pair #2 [w/Teds UP-OCC copper cable] still sound comparatively bass light and tilted in the upper mids alongside my other stock pairs.  They must be broken in by now at ~200 hours.

Still, "Body Language" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen sound "pretty darn good".

Don't really miss the PM-1 at the moment, but do look forward to hearing them again in a few days.

I wasn't a fan of the DT770 Pro 80, though that was a long time ago.

The 600 ohm version has been reportedly the most balancedof the DT770 line.

I owned the DT880/600 Premium for a while, but my all-time favorite has been the DT880/"Year 2003" version.

Lorsmodded mikros are defninitely loads of fun. Bass is just slightly bloated/boomy/bleeding. It's only noticable on very fast tracks but it's there, what do you guys recommend doing mod-wise to counter this? thicker leather/different material? I feel like they are so close to being perfect - just need to control the hole a bit better :)

+1

What kind of cork did you use? same as the cork as specified by Lors?

Ask the EXPERTS:  Lors and/or the Elusive Maxx.

My Mikros 90 have deeper, thicker bass than my PM-1.

Gracie Slick sings "Triad".  The Modded Mikros 90 ROCK!!!

what exactly did u do...show some fotos?  i ended up with all corkchops around the hole..

and on the base...if u still need tighter bass, add a 33.435mm x 59.543mm felt piece

at the southernmost part of the cup.

Is there a lot of variation in sound signature between these? I had one pair, liked it a lot but found it a just a hair thin and bass light. It broke, I returned it and now I'm getting great bass and a full, rich and dare I say very near perfect sound.

did u open up the cups to check...probably ML put some corkchops inside :P

=====

Finally took out the Mikros90...

fired up the CSP2+ via NFB10.32 as dac,

huge big spacious sound.."Mrs Jones" by Michael Bublayyy..coooooool.

A few vocals following just gotten me transfixxed ...jawsdropping how "real" it sounded..

thats after cycling thru my other cans for the last few weeks not touching the Mikros.

EVERYONE just buy one n keep it in your arsenal.

I did leather on the bottom, blue-tac on the sides open hole and one piece of felt on the bottom. It's not as hard as the felt you have on your pics I think, but it's rougher than a snooker table cloth I think. I'll need to look further if I want to find corkchops or harder felt.
