Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 37

The X1's are hardly ever less than $200...they're $299 right now on Amazon. That $150 Deal of the Day was crazy-low, but it sold out in just a few hours, some folks (like me) got orders in too late. I actually watch for them, if >$200 is OK, they certainly have gotten tons of accolades (haven't heard them myself). I do like the H-200 a lot, open phones, and, in closed phones, the Senn Amperior is great sounding IMO,, and can be had for about $110-140 (seen it range there different sites). For the bucks, if you want something more "standard" sounding than the MLs, they'd be your best bet, again IMO, of course.

Had the cabbage for it and added them in my cart for the longest tyme cuz hopped on the deal once i saw it go live. Couldn't make myself buy it back for the 3rd tyme so hopped my troll arse back in bed and never regretted it whatsoever. Great deal but don't need it.

These Logans has got mo' potential it seems based on the kooky ones impressions here that is. :D

Sucks to hear about your Logans though. : (

For my taste, i rather have a pair of Very CLEAR RESOLVING sounding can, than a pair that is muffled/pop-ish.

Cos i can tone it down thru EQ ..or some foam/cotton stuffings until it is just right.

And i know i would get some decent classical music off my ipad when i am sitting in starbucks/Macdonalds. :P

If i had wanted a run of the mill pop sounding cans i would have paid for a UE4000 for 40bucks n be dun with much earlier.

Its v enjoyable for jazz/pop really.

I HAVE ZERO RESPECT FOR EQers, just saying.

The reasons you stated above was the reason why i went for these instead of the AKG K545s cuz these got crazy potential if the hype is indeed real. Might still get those AKGs down the road but these are A LOT mo' troll worthy that's fo' sho. Those AKGs are just playing it a bit too safe.

If what I've read so far is true, it sounds like the re700s will not sound that much different from its competitors, and goes on for looks alone...

......I'm still buying those martins, :) I'll get them for sure sometime on march.

But I will like the re700 for its looks, just warning you of my bias in the future.  great thread so far.

ya...i hardly ever touch the EQ button, if i do so its just out of curiosity. :P

I tend to play around the pads..ehem.

Or i jus delete that darn sharp song !!!

Y i bot the Mikros...

had to own a MARTIN LOGAN...at least ONCE in my lifetime,

heard those airy floaty speakers in the showroom and had wanted one since.

Mikros is a cheapppppstart ...let me wait this out n see what happens.

yes, very much so. I have the black versions and they are indeed handsome looking.

Do they sound beautiful? I'd say yes, pretty much that you'd wish you bought it as well. I am glad I did as the vocals are not of this world, neither is the bass. The highs are pretty resolving as well, pretty smooth, detailed and clear...though sometimes, the upper mids have silibance for some reason...

The ch, t, and F can hurt sometimes. It doesn't happen with every iteration though...that is confusing, I might have a defected pair, I hope so as it is annoying sometimes..

NOW the esw10jpn sounds awesome, and I know since there were people that had the esw9 and esw10s, and man, that appreciation thread was my fav read. :)

Since you mentioned how good they were, I might buy them and ...maybe...sell..nah, I'm not doing either, I'm sticking with the martins now.

You will have ath success with this one, right after you enjoy those martins...I hope. I hope some people can try these as it HAS to be heard by everyone.

Just one pic and I'm done with that talk.

here are my cans so far. They look a bit lonely, especially my es700s. They want to be friends with the martin man, though he may not be handsome, he is unique,

And might possibly help the jvcs get some love from the at group too!

The big father of theirs doesn't want to be disturbed, he already got a scar from his downfall (aka, the a900x).

the center. See how it droops towards the desk? :( it's sad...

it's an on-ear for sure.

The one on the left is the bass-o-phile ath-ws99. Pretty good sound sig, balanced as well, but not as good as the es700's vocals and highs.

I want that RE700! Absolutely stunning. And I though the K545 looked good.

There needs to be an RE700 vs Martin Logan comparison right now Vlenbo!!

That makes two of us trunks...

I so want to buy them, but I need to wait a bit! I don't want Martin Logan to be discontinued until then. Hopefully some headfiers can buy an extra? Maybe with sfw's inputs here, we can probably get more people to buy them, thus, helping others buy more in bulk so they can be purchased out of other headfiers...

EDIT: Saw the K545, I see why headfiers love the looks of that headphone! I still like the re700's looks though, they're both pretty...
