Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 329

Almost Final Impressions on Beats Solo v Stock Mikros v QC3 With Mikros Foam
SPOILER ALERT: QC3 Pleather + Mikros foam sounds the best.

Stock Mikros: These ime definitely have the most sibilance. The seal is nice, just too much sibilance going back to them now after the other pads.

Beats Solo: Good pads, but not without issues. They recess the mids, taking you out of the music. I don't like it. Also, they're the most uncomfortable of the bunch since they trap in air too well.

QC3: It does away with the sibilance, slightly reduces treble, and helps the soundstage. Vocals sound slightly clearer, and bass is improved slightly in extension and tightness. They feel the same on my ears comfort wise as stock.

I'm planning on modding the QC3 pads' foam to make them similar to stock. We'll see!!

I find it really odd that you hear sibilance in the stock mikros. I don't think that I have ever heard sibilance in mine.

Regardless, looking forward to your further work :)

^ I agree, didn't hear much (maybe the tiniest bit here and there) sibilant in the stock form

You should do it. I think that our 90's had the same issue, and I have been really happy with how my 2nd pair sounds - so good that I will never consider modding them. So there is a good chance that you would be very happy with your replacement as well.

But I'm happy that I also have my original modded pair, because I am going to continue modding them - the will become killer headphones :)

Anyone have multiple pairs? Wan't to sell me one? It needs to be labeled as a gift or repairs to avoid the customs. I will pay a fair price. Depending on the shipping methods(price) I can go high as 80$.

There's a few in the FS forums in case you're not aware.
