Disagree. IMO the Mikros 90 are not worth their $300 MSRP. The currently $10 + free shipping KSC-75 sound better IMO.

I have 90's (stock with 20 hours on them) and 75's (screen mesh mod) in hand. May the battle begin!

And believe me, I love both of these headphones, so this won't be biased :)

Indeed! They are like wearing iems on the ears. Same kind of detail and resolution you get with iems, and great isolation. They are pretty awesome portable cans in my opinion.

Agreed on the isolation on these beauts.

I'm definitely appreciating what these mikros have to offer. It has good bodied bass with the right source, fantastic treble (still needs slight adjustment on the lower treble peaks), and the mids are to die for! I do love me that detailing.

The isolation on these and the re700s are pretty dang good on the on-ear department. The harmans can't compare or even reach the same levels of isolation. The harmans at least have intoxicating mids, just like the mikros have intoxicating mids and highs with that tight low end, and the re700s intoxicating bass and mids, definitely not the lower treble...

Enjoy these comrades!

One thing I've learned: If something generates a debate, it's probably a good thing.

To my ears the ML are spectacular. I don't need anyone to tell me otherwise.

Further ruminations on the Mikros 90 "stock-to-stock" issue.

The stock pair that I bought from bhazard sound warmer and fuller than the stock pair I ordered and opened up shortly before acquiring [bhazard's] pair.  I have been running the brighter-sounding pair non-stop for the past five days and will check again later today for further developments.  In addition, these don't seem to go as deep in the bass, either.  So in that respect, they differ from the very first pair I bought, ran stock for about 400 hours, then subsequently [MikrosHypedBass] modded.

Definitely a candidate for modding.  Might try some cork, ebony and lamb's wool.

Pad break in is essential. The QC3 pads are good, but the foam hasn't broken in yet. I prefer the stock so far. The isolation is still rediculous.

I'm going to let them burn in from tonight til tomorrow night.... We shall see if the sound will change for the better!

Are the QC3 and the stock pads very similar?  Same form factor, no?

Very similar indeed but different.

Trunks, were you able to get the QC3 pads on with the Stretch and Fit technique?  Are they about the same size as the stock pads?  Did the plastic gizmo on the back side present any problems?

How are they different?  Are they in any way better?

Not yet. The isolation very slightly better, and there's more bass but I haven't broken in the pads yet.
