M90 vs Momentum OE song Hurt by 2 Cellos on my LG G2.

M90 - the bass is full but does not have enough body for the lower notes of the cello. The level of detail is impressive allowing for every kiss and sigh of the bowstring. The sense of emotion and immediacy near the end of the song is very powerful.

OE - the bass is fuller but also lacks a bit of definition compared to the M90, there is a more sonorous quality to the cello that is very appealing to me buy I could see it being the opposite for some. I still hear the kisses and sighs of the bowstring but they ate not as present as the M90. The OE sounds larger in the sound stage. The OE is not as quite as intimate losing some of the emotion shown by the M90.

Overall I would give the M90 the nod for this song as it portrayed the emotion of the song better. The biggest things to consider are whether you would like a more sonorous sound or would you like more detail. Both aspects might be to much for some people, you just have to decide which you group you belong to.

Momentum OE vs M90, Fleetwood Mac, the Chain from my LG G2.

OE - like the size of the sound stage, bass sounds very full and pleasing, bass guitar sounds very good later in the song. Treble sounds good for most of the drum kit but occasionally comes across as to brassy. The vocals sound good but a recessed and possibly a bit to warm.

M90 - The sound stage is smaller but at the same time more positionally accurate. The bass is nice but lacks body and punch, the bass guitar is more detailed but lacks body in comparison to the OE. Treble is clear and very articulate with much better detail and no brassy aspects. Vocals are more intimate and tonally accurate.

In a perfect world I would get the bass body of the OE with all of the detail of the M90. But as before you just have to choose your preference between these two headphones. For this band I think most would prefer all the detail unless to allergic to too much treble energy in which case the OE would be a better choice.

U are in luck....the world can be more perfect,
After your 120th hour, u can reassess the sound...
And if needed, mod the cupinnards for lower bass presence tongue.gif

is this the hole mod where I poke a hole in the tape covering the hole or is there a different mod I should be looking at. I am enjoying the heck out of the OE as well as the M90 but if I can marry the two signatures and eliminate the OE's I will take them back to Future Shop in a heart beat. The only thing else I like about the OE over the ML is a bit of comfort and a larger sound stage. But since I already own the K545 I already have both of those areas covered.

It's funny how I find the OE just as uncomfortable as the M90 even though they have less clamp. The M90's ability to swivel allow it to not put as much pressure on the back of my ear. The OE on the other hand has a more typical on ear pressure on the back of my ear causing pain.

Just listening to Patricia Barber's Smash while typing in this post and currently have on the M90. I really like the intimacy of the M90 for Jazz. It reveals a lot more emotion plus Jazz really thrives with added detail. The OE on the other hand sounds more like your in a small hall and has almost to much bass for Jazz.

If u look at my signature,,it will bring u to the mods I initially posted,

2ways to mod it:
Either peel the sticker off the hole carefully,,,,,
Or dun peel the sticker,
But dun poke it or tear it,

If u open up the hole fully,,u might go down to 5Hz quite clearly,,,
If u dun open it,,u should get about 20Hz clearly,
N softer going downwards.

Thanks, I missed your signature because use the mobile mode which doesn't show that. I have looked at the post and will try a few things. I have done the hole mod on my Q701 which helped that headphone immensely so may give this a try on the weekend.

Well my dalliance with a new girl was short and sweet. In the end I actually find the M90 a bit more comfortable and my K545 is a lot more comfortable. I also found the K545 similar in signature to the Momentum OE while not having quite as much bass making them more balanced and without a slightly to harsh upper midrange I found in the OE.

Interestingly for detail I would go M90, then OE, then K545 but this also attributes to the K545's sound stage and ease of use. So by keeping the M90 I get an alternative to the laid back K545 as compared to the OE being a slightly different alternative to the K545.

I wonder if you will prefer a modded Mikros over the K545.

I mustve just reached the 200 hour mark because the sound coming from this thing is unbelievable.

Well my dalliance will continue a while longer. It turns out Future Shop has changed their return policy so I am stuck with the Momentum for now. I will probably list them in the FS section. But I will write review in the mean time as well as a shootout against the M90.

I wonder if I might enjoy the modded M90 over my K545 as well. I am also thinking of a way to make the M90 an over ear headphone. I have a plan that I think will work and keep their distinctive looks.

Mikros doesn't sound good coming directly out of my cowon D2+. M80 does. Thinking these are going to be picky about the source. I only have a few hours of play time on them though.
