Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 246

I just got a pair in, so far they are quite awesome as advertised :). I need a bit more time before I try speaking on it but it certainly lives up to the hype so far. I recently got a set of vmoda m80's and I might give a side-by-side if there's any interest. I need to burn these in to about 30 hours to get them at about the same place though. I'm very exited to hear these progress. I'm a bit green here but I'll try to give a decent review when I have them at about 30hrs.

If anyone is trying to get more air out of these, or trying to get less bass directed onto your ears and more around your ears, do the reverse pad mod.  I actually prefer this to stock because of this and the slight (very slight) addition to comfort.

Please please please wait until you get to at least 80 hours - they change so much up to that point that it would be worth your effort to wait.

That is some really good customer service I must say. Note that this is a discontinued headphone and on top of that you have probably voided warranty! I WISH EVERYTHING COULD BE MADE BY MARTIN LOGAN!

Lol yeah I did read a lot before about their wonderful customer service. HiFiMaN acts similarly with their warranty I believe--very generous.

They have to stay in the headphone business.  Someone, organize a petition.

Trying to understand all the modifications; it makes my head spin.

Has anyone just added a small thin amount of bluetak into center of cup perhaps 1" to 1 1.2"  in diameter and left everything else alone on headphones? I consider a closed headphone as a small acoustic suspension speaker enclosure; sometimes all you need is a small amount of resonance control. Or maybe just a small amount of dynamat of backside of diaphragm holder.

Newegg.com price today $66.99 USD; must keep finger from pressing buy button!!!!!

I wonder if the price will ever come down to black friday price of $59.99?

Ever taken a rollercoaster w/o being dizzy...???

These mods are meant to be xxxagerated..overrated...confusing..
Just to enhance the despair..

look into the mirror... do the onebluetacmod...
N report back please...we need togetto the Bottom of this issue;)

I still agree with this. I don't know why they would steer away from it when clearly the headphone business is sky rocketing.

hi bro,,,,welcummm...

u can journal the progress of your burn in experience n share it with us here...would be interesting how one can get slaughter by another.  :P

Main reason I gave up on the burn in was it had too many variables... brain-burn-in is way more impacting than real burn in IMO and that just makes it that much harder to know for sure if it is burn in that I am hearing.

Similar.  Well, the velour pads i put on the MDR 7506 actually increased the bass.  The sibilance also goes away (the treble is probably evened out).

on some cans, like superlux681 n T1, velorpads actually takes away some bass resonance..and i get to hear the solid bass.

if u are familiar with your testsongs...and u have a few diff cans on hand...i doubt brain burn in plays a big part.
