(1)  The Auvio 6 foot cable is on Clearance at Radio Shack for $2.97.  Refunded my Auvio 3 foot cable that I bought last week [for $14.99!], then promptly bought the 6-footer.  This is a great deal for anyone interested in getting a decent after-market cable that works well--I think--with the MLs, for next-to-nothing.

(2)  Also, I picked up a deerskin coat at the local "free store" earlier this afternoon.  There is plenty of leather to go around for any of you modders out there--actual or would-be--who are looking into the [pseudo] CARVEN mod--or some variation thereof.  PM me if interested.

(3)  Listened to Steely Dan's Greatest last night, just about in its entirety [and I really don't even like Steely Dan].  Was just checking up to monitor burn-in with the [open cell foam] modded pair and got drawn into an extended listening session.  The female back-up voices on "Babylon Sisters" sounded so transparent, BIG and lifelike on either side.  Couple that with the Teds silver cable settling in beautifully.  Inside my mind I kept reiterating: "These are the best headphones I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy".

The Mikros 90 will blow your mind, INDEED!

Welp, I opened up one of the drivers again. Working in there reminds me of the old game "operation" - instead in this case, one false move and those tiny wires break and I go "F*#$"!

And I know that there is no going back after taking that tape off of THE RABBIT HOLE, because I will for sure mangle the tape.

So I put it together again. More courage - or a 2nd pair of 90's - required!

Scared!

Anyone else have the C&C BH amp and listened to the 90's through it? I can't believe how much I am digging they synergy. The LF switch really gives me all the bass I need (without it getting distorted at all). The SF switch adds another level of 3D dimensionality. Sounds amazing. This is one reason I'm not feeling the urgent need to make Sf happy and destroy my 90's lol.

LOL!

Man, you GOTTA LOVE THIS THREAD!!!

Wayne, we are SO GLAD you hung around for the RIDE!!!

Well, at least you gave it a shot--which is more than most of us HYPERS have done.

You are earning your STRYPES big-time.

:beerchug:

*Edit:

Wayne, I am willing to bet that an equivalently sized fragment of a Band-Aid could replace the original port blockers and fulfill the same function.

Thanks pataburd! But don't count me out yet! I may wait for the dynamat that's coming my way and take a final stab at it then :)

Here's a good sounding tune on the 90's for ya!:

Based on the general tone of this song, I'd take a guess and say that this song would be good as well:

And maybe this too (the whole album):

Nope.  Not here, anyway.

And I probably did the least efficacious [FOAMBASS] mod (*waits for Lors' guffaws to subside*), but I was in no way prepared for what followed sonically.

Lors is probably experiencing something with his advanced, esoteric mods akin to a Mikros 90 "dream state" for most of the rest of us rank-and-file play-it-safers.

nehcrow, I believe, does/did want to reclaim what he termed "that sweet stock sound" after initially peeling off [and subsequently destroying] the bass port tabs.  I'm not sure if he put anything inside the cups, though, and was probably traumatized by a megaton of wild and woolly Mikros 90 BASSSSSSS run amok.

Wayne,

Thanks!

One of my favorite DS tracks.

Listening through output jack on my lefthand multimedia speaker, with the STOCK Mikros 90 and the FiiO RC MH1.

Must admit that it sounds truly fine!
