TIP :  when u opened up the cups...rest the driver on the earpad that u just ripped...elevated...

dun hold the driver in your hand. that way no sudden jerk of your hand will rip the wires.

Tip 2...use a flat screwdriver to push n stick the blue tac into place in the far corners.

Tip 3....go to a nice residential thrash site...n look for C A R V E N leather...remember...only CARVEN WORKS.

^ No need to be so cryptic with your posts meng. You can honestly state your opinions here cuz it's best to keep impressions as transparent as possible. Instead of going to other threads.....

isolation n comfort this QC15 beats the crap out of Mikros... at ten times the price. hehe

=============================================================

i couldnt walk the streets with Mikros...the streetnoise just mix in with my muzak.

Best time with this gem is deep into the nite...

Listening to the LAST SAMURAI,

i could hear some guys flexing metal aluminium(?) sheets deeeep into the background,

to create some kind of effect.. never heard it b4 . ( off the ipad !)

============================================================

my 3metal cable combo seems to work with my McAir... testing it out now.

No go with my Audiogd ...humpfff    switched in a powercord :wink_face:

Where are you guys getting your leather from? I really dont want to carve up my gf's handbag or something

I am planning on hitting the thrift store tomorrow.  But it has to be glove leather.  Or maybe a nice pebble grain.

Just ordered a Teds UPOCC copper cable.

Can't wait to hear the Mikros 90 "sing" with this copper!

I've noticed a bunch of mods pop up recently

Simply opening the bass port without dampening kind of messes with the SQ

ALSO:
Last call, who here is willing to part with their original acoustic material that covers the bass port (Willing to pay a bit!), mine were destroyed by me ;_;

nehcrow,

All I did was tuck a disc of open cell foam about 3/2 inches in diameter and 7/16 inch thick directly beneath the driver.  Will try to get pictures up this weekend.

You could probably just use a fragment of Band-Aid strip to recover the hole.  Not sure there was really anything acoustically "special" about the piece to begin with [but I am open to explanations if there were].

I destroyed mine, too, BTW.  I was in one of those [mods] moods where I just wanted to get the thing over with.  It was going well using my Schrade pocket knife (recently whet-stoned to a fine edge), until I lost patience and just tore it off.

I finally caved and ordered up a pair. Curse you all for your raucous and infectious enthusiasm! Looking forward to hearing them and most likely giving the mods a go at some point down the road.

We will both review a pair at the same time then? Cool :)

Sounds like a plan! I'm cautiously optimistic. I have had good luck with close outs on budget ML gear in the past. Here's hoping this modest gamble has a similar payoff!
