Well the SQ is degraded if I go against the arrows on my Cardas cable. Degraded as in no sound at all. It should be the same and only work in one direction. I forgot one time using it as a recording cable and, oops, no recording. The ET1 is not that way. It works in both directions.
After a couple of hours no less my ET1 has shown to be a bit better than the stock cable. Great for unamped use as it has more punch and is more visceral. This goes for the whole bass range up into vocals which are a bit sweeter. The stock cable seems soft now and drums and guitar lack the bit of impact gained with the ET1. Yet the stock cable doesn't sound really any brighter or cleaner which is great. Out of the package, the ET1 wasn't as tight sounding. There was a little bloat. They started hitting harder after a bit and it was easy to tell by the feel. Nice to have a more amped sound even tough I have no amps on hand atm. They sound slightly better powered even though they aren't.
Outside of that, the physical stuff:
- I like the red and that it breaks up the black scheme a bit
- I like the extra .1 meter. The ET1 is a 1.3M length
- I like the RA plug on the Pipeline better than the stock
- again I like the thicker yet softer cable on the ET1. Also not as "grippy" a rubber sheathing(more shiny and slippery than the stock one)
Now I have to get the Pipeline and hook it up backwards!
