Oh yeah just got mines in like 10 minutes ago... and you can take off the earpads without destroying them. Lol seems like I missed that point :P now I don't have to go searching for pads immediately.

I think first reduce clamp and burn in for a while; then I'll consider DIYing a cable.

Oh and if there are any DIYers on this thread did anybody find a 3.5mm connector that will fit on the headphone side? the stock connector seems pretty thin. Also need to decide between standard OFC copper I use for everything, SPC, or OCC copper.
I reached pg 425 of the 890ish DIY cable gallery, and so far there are no ready made metal finish 3.5mm mini plug in 6mm. What ppl did was take a naked plug ( no casing), solder your stuff, sleeve if wanted, then either just heat shrink wrap n hide it or hot glue gun the plug for 'casing'. Now according to Pata, Ted Allen (Teds headfood / Headphone Lounge) managed to thin the outer barrel of a T6 Viable mini so it fits the MLM90. Also if it fits your fancy, from what I gathered from Wikipedia you can use a .22 long rifle casing for your plug barrel haha, might need to trim a bit the rim if you pick a short .22
Or invest in an injection molding machine. Watched Ask Drew from Moon Audio vid last night and they got one, they made a plug for the Shure recalling, can ask him if they can make a plug for our Logan cult.

Still waiting on South African postal services for these :(. Just wanted to share this psychedelic rock music because I have a feeling it'll sound great on the Mikros. Some sexy, fat guitar dirt and synths in these songs.

waited 3 days once mine hit Belgium. Then was greeted with 52eur customs duty haha cool.gif I think for the Mikros recabling I'm gonna stick to EU zone to avoid 30eur+ 21%vat customs.

Enjoy the Cheetos flavour when you unpack sonicelectronix's box.biggrin.gif

I'm worried about import duties here, too. Our import duties don't seem to be based on any structured system. I've had import duties on some cheap electronics items cost more than the items themselves. There's also been talk of hiking up import duties lately because businesses here are suffering (not surprising when items being sold here cost more than double the international equivalent). There's no way to get clarification on import duties either because Africa.

The reason I bought two sets was actually so I could recoup some of the expense of getting them here. Only cost an additional $10 shipping for another pair.

Of course, I may change my mind about selling the second pair when I get them biggrin.gif.

Oh, and dare I ask.... Cheetos flavour?

Well consider me hyped!

Ordered these to a relative in the US for 80$, won't get them here until late april though :/

My current favourite can is the Takstar pro-80 - So I'm expecting this to be a significant upgrade.

I will be running it from my Aune X1 - which is a relatively warm DAC/amp combo, from what I read it could be a wonderful match.

Holy ****, keeping up productivity while I wait for these might be slightly problematic :D

First hype thread ever where there really seem to be little to no naysayers. I tend to like bass-lighter cans and prefer good bass to bass amounts so this can seems to have it all. I think my takstar is a touch too bass heavy and also slightly inelegant the highs somehow... I wanted to save for a chinaman HE500 or one of the new models but I couldn't resist getting these for 80$. I think I stumbled on to a winner here!

Do the pipeline ET-1 cables fit these? Anyone considered buying a smaller 3.5mm plug and soldering it on one of the cables whose plug is too big?

robakri...welcome, just keep the irish whisky pouring n u should be alright during the wait.

From what u said, the stock Mikros will float your boat.

Yeah, even ordered the pipeline cable for good measure. I went with the one for around 9$ shipped on amazon which I believe is a 10 foot cable (which is actually more convenient than a 4 foot for my home setup). I don't remember reading about it but was there a sonic difference between the 4 and 10 footers?

yes.....i read somewhere u need at least a 1.8m length to get the full " fill in the blank- metal" characteristics.

:D

Personally never heard a difference with cables but I was just wondering since you guys have been pretty specific with cables and hearing a lot of differences - it just seemed logical to me that a longer cable would have more resistance and therefore might sound differently. I'm most excited to listen to jazz with these cans though, it is something I have grown quite fond of after acquiring the pro80s

I am listening to THE SOUND OF MUSIC...

the bassmode actually made this Mikros sound more like fullsizedcans...

the froooommmpp of the drums interspersing the songs,

the ommppaapaaa of the tubers on the song THE LONELY GOATHERD is deliciously matured.

The church PROCESSIONAL where the church pipe organ starts bellowing right upfront is soul rumbling..

the choir gals singing..."how do u solve a problem like MARIAaaaaaa....." in layered depth.. is soul stirrrring.

CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN..the family made the escape thru the mountain...

sounded so GRAND N HUGE..sounded as if the mountain is looming b4 me...oooooo

MUST GET THIS CD !  ( this is the stage play version, Erich Kunzel )
