I WOULDN'T lead you astray my friend. I have the On1s on now as the Mikros get much need burn in. They are freakin' fantastic!! They surpass the M500, which I think is an excellent headphone. Some of the best drums and bass I've heard in headphone. So natural sounding. Great imaging and decay.

You're saying the On1s surpass the M500, right?

Mikros are bass light  unamped in comparison to S500, HPH-200, Piston, Gratitude, Basso, Tenore.  It could be a function of comparing with those with more bass.  Still waiting for Beats cable; when it comes, I'll listen to Mikros without comparing; perhaps it will no longer be bass light for me (or I'm just a basshead).  I do have an 18" SVS Subwoofer for my home theater system and my car stereo used to have a 12" sub.  Mikros bass sounded more like a 5.25" or 6.5" speaker rather than a 10" or 12" subwoofer.

^ These got some of the most amazing mids and treble i have head to date, you're gonna love them. Even the bass is of good quality albeit not as full as i would like them, BUT there's a mod for that. ;)

So no worries on all accounts. : P

^ Like most on-ears they make your ears sore after a hour or more of use, BUT there's a pad over pad mod for that. ;)

Okay, for some of you bass-light seems to be defined as not hitting basshead levels. I hear these various phones as basshead, bass, and bass-light. The RE-400 (as an example) or RE-262 were bass-light. I actually felt the Yammie HPH-200s were bass-light. I hear more bass in the Mikros than I did in those three phones. Again, the Mikros are just neutral sounding to me, but with more than enough bass (especially once I amped it).

Mikros clamps tight when its new...
But last two days i wasnt feeling it on my head...
Fell asleep with it 3times actually.

Put a few more hours on them.....seems to be filling out a bit in the mids. Still enjoying them here at work...got a couple of compliments on their looks. Can't turn 'em up much here though. These are amazing on guitar.....seem to be playing a ton of that today! smily_headphones1.gif

I'm good with the clamp. Had them on for 3 hours straight out of the box, and it wasn't objectionable. But then again, I don't have a ton to compare it to...

The clamping force can be mitigated by gently bending/reforming the tubular band or, as sfwalcer stated, by using a "pad-over-pad" mod.

After extended use, coupled with user habituation, the clamping force seems to diminish on its own.

BUT, it does help on this thread to have somewhat of a masochistic tendency anyway.

NO PAIN, NO (sonic) GAIN!!

Not at "any" Best Buy, I'm sorry to report.  I stopped at my local BB last weekend to audition the Mikros 90 at one of their (infamous) listening kiosks, but there were no ML to be seen or heard.

Many of us have concurred that the initial few negative reports on the Mikros 90 were due to (a) inadequate placement on the listener's head, (b) noisy listening environments (lots of ambient noise around the kiosks) or (c) sub-par sources (compressed files) or gear.

Just about everyone so far who has given the Mikros 90 an "honest" listen has come away generally favorably impressed.  [Plus, if they don't give a RAVE/HYPED review, we take them out back and rough them up abit, i.e. we "properly educate them" on how to evaluate the Mikros 90.]
