Vocals are quite decent, but haven't Wowed me yet (like in the On1 and HP50 or M500). I realize I should judge these too harshly until I get about 40 hours or more. I do hear the potential in these. Right now I can say the Mikros stands with the M500 and On1, but it's not surpassing them yet for me. And it's not making me miss listening to the HP50, but for the price - it is now - it's a quite a phenomenal headphone. Glad I have it and good recommendation fellas!

Sounds very nice through the Fiio E10/E9 combo.

For me, it was a comparison to the es700s. They had pretty good bass quantity. It still didn't satisfy me, but it had enough and were not bass-light. These, in comparisons to the es700s, were bass-light. Anything below the es700's quantity is bass-light for me.

There is plenty of bass though, and depending on sources and recordings, the bass can change accordingly.

Pretty surprising to hear that these are well against the on1s! Won't be long now...

HAHA! That's what I'm missing as well, so! the fiios that is.

That has nothing to do with the awesomeness of the Mikros 90.

Just lay off the refried beans next time you go out for Mexican food.

The On1's natural timbre and deep rich natural sounding powerful bass is ruling the day right for my on-ears. I have the Mediabridge cable on and it's just blowing everything I own away (except for the X1 and the HP50....but it competes with those).

Which mediabridge cable is it?

I have one too, but I think it's an in-line cable.

By the way, this cable won't fit the Mikros, and neither will the Zu.

AHA! so I wasn't crazy, it is the same one.

Yeah, figures...I even removed the thick plastic cover on the 3.5mm, well more like loosened, since I can't remove it...

It almost fit my re700s though! Sad sad tale of the mikros..

Edit: Those on1s better sound good to pay $200!

I jest..

But if the mikros doesn't touch them in the mids, then I'm going for those on1s....

Those woodies...

You so nailed it, I lost count at 86 farts today, and my co-workers decided to give me a wide birth... I think it was peanut-butter and crackers for dinner.... scrimping for my 4th pair... pair 3 is in the repair bin.

I WOULDN'T lead you astray my friend. I have the On1s on now as the Mikros get much need burn in. They are freakin' fantastic!! They surpass the M500, which I think is an excellent headphone. Some of the best drums and bass I've heard in headphone. So natural sounding. Great imaging and decay.

Then that third pair can wait...

I'm saving a bit more on that on1 now, halfway there! :L3000:

After a few more hours of burn-in, the mikros already stomps the re700s on terms of instrument weight.

The re700s are pretty thin sounding now that I'm A/Bing them, but I still like the re700s based on the vocals. In some songs, the vocals are favored on the re700s, and sometimes tied with the mikros. Not bad, not bad mikros! :beerchug:
