The thing I feel is lacking a bit is clarity/resolution in the upper mids and lower treble. I just feel that I hear a fair amount more detail in my SE846.... or should I say that the detail is hinted at by the Mikros 90, but you almost have to peer through murky water to notice, for lack of a better description. This area of the frequency range seems hazy/glazed over or something. I hope this aspect clears up some with run in time. I estimate I have about 20 hours or so on my set so far.

But the 90 checks all the other boxes:

Soundstage: ✓

Deep bass: ✓

High treble quality: ✓

Midrange quality: ✓

Tonality: ✓

Thanks for the insight cn11.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing when I catching up. I wanna see how he compares to all his other stuff. Will probably save me buckets of money in the long run.

Ericp, definitely waiting on your comparisons to the te-05. I'm planning on selling off all my IEMs if the B3 doesn't scale well when I get my amp, so I'll be in need of a new IEM.

But really, I'm not super surprised. I've been saying these seems to stay pretty true to the source/track. And, in my experience, genres like jazz/funk/rhythm/etc seem to have better amounts of bass compared to others on these.

The experimentation with placement continues....but much better now!

Yeah, I was like :scratches head: when I saw your first post. Lol. You must of missed our liking/loving/praising/hyping/surrendering to the decay for few pages earlier in the thread, but it's understandable. I stepped away for, what, 5 hours and the thread jumped 4 pages. Anyway, the 90s continue to open up. My second air sounded a bit closed in but overall wasn't too bad.

I feel lucky that I never seem to have fit issues with anything.

If I recall correctly, it actually does changes the sound a bit. It wasn't super noticeable though. Will be testing it out again later. And the solo pads are getting here tomorrow. Anyway, gonna let my 90s and CAL2 burn in some more while I take a nap.

ok, I just stumbled on to this thread and I have to ask...is this some kind of social experiment?  :regular_smile :

I think so...one that went bad wrong about 126 pages ago.  Be careful.  I was following for only a couple days before I placed my order with Amazon.

Oops, you got us. University study on peer pressure and groupthink effects.

By the way, I bought four. How many you gonna get? Be sure to let us know. ;)

FajroMangxanto:  I still find them a little dry from the mid-bass on up - especially with less than stellar recordings.  However, not as tinfoil brittle as when I first fired them up.  The decay still seems a little truncated - the organic flow from note to note is still not quite what I expected after all the raving.  But as I've said before, these have only a few hours at medium volume on them, and I fully expect them to open up even more than they have.  Plus I'm still only on the iPhone (yuck) and not the home rig yet.

What has happened so far is I'm hearing the speed and timbral accuracy that most have raved about. Very, very impressive....even if they were only to stay like this or get a little better, I'd still call these a clear winner for the money.  But I know I have not yet heard these sing yet.....it's coming!  :happy_face1:

One minute I am reading this disjointed thread which appears to be little more than a collection of the ravings of caged lunatics, then blackness...and when consciousness returns I find that I am staring at an Amazon page that says "THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDER."

I'm now thinking that this is a clever marketing ploy by the geniuses at MartinLogan to empty their warehouse to avoid paying taxes on unsold inventory.

It is so much more than that...

...and when you finally realize this, it will be to late for you.

YES.

I resisted for a while. But resistance was, of course, futile.

Mine are still in transit. It should be interesting!

You forgot to mention that you were completely naked when you woke up.

Just to be clear, I had nothing to do with that.

You will have to go to sfwalcer and pataburd for an explanation.  All I know is that you were fully clothed when we propped you up on your chair...and then I had to go, so I don't really know what happened after that.   I do remember hearing sfwalcer giggle as I left the room.:D

Okay, bass is solid and plentiful (still can't see how these were called bass-light .... neutral maybe, but not bass-light). Guitars sound very nice through the Mikros, with a nice wide soundstage. Vocals are quite decent, but haven't Wowed me yet (like in the On1 and HP50 or M500). I realize I should judge these too harshly until I get about 40 hours or more. I do hear the potential in these. Right now I can say the Mikros stands with the M500 and On1, but it's not surpassing them yet for me. And it's not making me miss listening to the HP50, but for the price - it is now - it's a quite a phenomenal headphone. Glad I have it and good recommendation fellas!

Sounds very nice through the Fiio E10/E9 combo.

For the moment, I would prefer to remain ignorant.
