Mo' to come.

^ Nice. So here is the cable breakdown so far:

V-Moda (most airy/ softer in presentation, stage is lifted but has the least weight, punch, texture)

FiiO MH1 (is less airy than the V-moda and i would say is right in between the stock and V-Moda one, though it is more musical than the stock and V-Moda cable due to the increased bass quantity it is kinda boxy/dry sounding to me)

Stock Logan cable (the most tight, snappy, clean, clear and fastest sounding of them all, hence the overall sound can seem more thin/ lean due to it lacking fullness in the bass, most 3D sounding/ micro details more apparent due to its transparency)

Cheapo Beats (has the most weight/ texture, with a good touch of added warmth and fullness, speed and clarity is still very good but doesn't "appear" as 3D/ clean as the stock cable but they don't muddy up the sound at all though, the most fun, musical and engaging by far)

or the martin logan company will troll us in the end, making it a $500 headphone to compensate for that long deal. :p

and especially troll the newcomers to this wonderful headphone. I'm enjoying mine pretty well, it sounds airier than it did before, but still not quite up to the clean and euphonic sound I hear from the re700s!

Never!

That and...I went overboard with enthusiasm and didn't A/B both properly when I stated my revelation...

I will never prefer one over the other, I'd rather keep both! :atsmile:That's why I never stop using both of them.

The re700s are smoother sounding and a bit more airier than the martin logans. It's noticable, not THAT noticable, but noticable enough.

The quality of the bass in the re700s is astounding, just as good as the martins almost, but with more bass. The texture reminds me of the ws99s more than the martins do. And with that beats cable, you'll just make the re700s the winner in the bass category!

I'll just say that they're different sounding enough to warrant both and call it even.

Welp, the fact that the RE700's and the 90's are duking it out so closely says a lot about how great the RE700's are. So kudos to you for bringing them to our attention. If it weren't for the darned 90's and their silly low price...

It's a good thing in my book. Now we have a cheap headphone to buy in quantity, and not to worry about the re700's stock as it is recently new!

The martin logans should be enough for the whole year, then the re700s will share the same fate! (though it won't be discontinued and will probably go for $100 with shipping hopefully)

THANK YOU MARTIN!! YOU ARE GENEROUS!

I'm surprised that the re700s have the potential to hang with the martins to be honest. If the re700s had the reference sound in the instruments, then it would have still lost to the martins with the "pull" effect, and the fact that they're basically tied to every category, though airiness could be debatable on both. Soundstage size is similar, imagery is exact on both at times, and the bass quality can be better on the re700s and vice versa. What a controversy for me.  :triportsad:

I hope mochill enjoys the re700s as much as I do, and if he sells it due to the mikro's epicness, it's even better for people here at headfi land!

What source/amp are you using vienbo?

Just floated a WTB for the Lehmann BCL and made an inquiry about a beta22.  Not sure how either will fare with the Mikros 90, though.

Lors, do you have any thoughts in the matter?

I'm only using my SGS4 phone at the moment. I can't find my fiio e6 amp.

Once I find it, I'll give impressions with amping on both. The re700s are also power hungry like the martin logans, which is a bummer.

And also, are there any great BUDGET amps that I can try on the martin logans? I don't want to be spending another $150 for an amp that does it justice...I"m saving money for those fostex!
