I'll give you 3 sets of those Yammie HP3s for them. Good trade meng cuz you can't beat a 3 for one deal. Quantity ova' quality anyday, but in this case it's 3X the quality AND quantity cuz those HP3s bests those ATHs for ya'.

Have always wanted a woodie in my collection.

http://www.head-fi.org/t/705174/audio-technica-w1000x#post_10262933 I'm trying to sell them. :p It only took a few hours (less time than it took for me to decide to send back the Mikros) to realize that I won't warm up to them no matter how much I listen to them.

I guess my preferred sound sig is more of a relaxed sound sig than whatever the W1000X is going for, which is why I don't really like the P7 either, since their treble bothers me. The Mikros was pretty darn close to what I want, but after some rationalization, I'm going to wait and see if the TDS-16 I bought is more to my taste. If they aren't, I'm probably going to end up here again...and actually giving them some time because the HP3 is too dang hard to drive off a DAP and doesn't work well as a portable.

Do you have the Smela or the Kiev version?

I ordered the Mikros 90 yesterday and they are already at my doorstep, but I'm at work.  I ordered at 2pm yesterday and they arrived at 1:20pm today, less than 24 hours!

Will start the burn in process tonight :D

I've now got about 70 hours (ear time) and am just about ready to sell some cans off.

Isolation:Great
Bass:Fantastic, though I could take less bass
Mids:Emphasized, too much intimacy sometimes.
Highs:2-7khz emphasized, with a few bumps and peaks. 4-7khz creates sibilance with certain tracks. Of course the treble quality is out of this world. The 2-4khz emphasis makes the vocals very present. It almost shrinks the soundstage perception. The soundstage is a lot larger than I first thought. It's hard for me to perceive or compare soundstage when I'm given different signatures, so EQ has confirmed the FANTASTIC soundstage. My other closed cans may sound wider, like the FC300 (going back today), but the ML is much deeper, and even put through fast music, the instrument separation stands true.
If I had to complain abou

^ Congrats!!! Can't wait to see how you hear them. Raw unburnt initial impressions are always welcomed cuz that's how i like to document the changes i hear later. Initial impression even if they sounded like schiit, doesn't necessarily fault them per se, cuz i have had gears changed up on my like crazy, ie: the Sony MH1Cs, JVC S500s.

Initial they sounded like a slow, muddy, congested mess with zero energy and was like these mofos must be trippin' to be hyping them up so much. But i always burn my gears in and lo and behold they turned into sonic gems with some good old heavy bass beat down. Not all gears change with burn-in cuz it has to do with the tech/ materials involved but if the said gears is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off from what everyone is hearing then you better get burning boi!!!

Easy to compare against My CD666 w/HD497 pads as they are nearly the same sound but the Sony being thinner and more airy and slightly colder which made them seem slightly cleaner.

To be honest so far it is like not really having a new can, so no real new toy syndrome. Cooler if it was like you with the RE700 and Mikros which are more different. I guess I don't sound that hype-ful or excited due to that.

At least I can say for sure, that those thinking about pairing the Mikros with the C5 should do it cause the CD666/C5 was epic so the Mikros 90/C5 should be the same.

Forgot to respond to this.

I totally understand you bud, no worries!

I don't mind whatever your impressions were, I just hope you enjoy them! :)

And enjoy them you have! Nice impressions, pretty well done meng! Continue to burn them in, they do improve overall. I truly don't mind hearing it the way it is now, it's pretty good so far, even with a few more hours of burn-in, I bet it'll sound better for sure! These guys have outdone themselves, truly a audio grade worthy class of headphones.

Now I feel obligated to tour the re700s so people know the SQ differences between the martin man and the audio eloquentia. Especially since the footprints are similar to one another, and the weight as well!

Don't judge them base on price meng, just on pure unadulterated sonics please. :basshead:

Unless you don't have the budget meng!
