Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 85

Dang, I'm such a fickle headfier.

The one moment I pick the re700s over the martin logans, is the moment I pick the logans over the re700s.

Now I am starting to pick both of them for some recordings. They are equals now!

I'm such a happy man! I could just cry now!

That picture describes everything! Thank you elvergun! I...*sniff* can't..*sniff* stop!

It's brother is coming along the way to my crib! :' )

I will guard that second mikros heapdhone with my life. NEVER and I mean, NEVER will I hand it to over to anyone! Even to a conspicuous fellow with a coat that has some of the goods when I'm feeling down! I'd rather use my mikros and co. versus some immediate tool of happiness!!

Those martin marvelous logan mikros are great, can't stop listening to the jams of heavy rock! Thank you muse, you sound awesome!

Now to get me a pair of these...

Same re-700, but in a brown color.

Then my life is complete!

Nah, my life will be complete after a third mikros. Or better still, the fostex te-05!

I ordered them should be here next week 😎

If I read what you stated correctly...

I'm even happier than before!!!

I truly hope they don't disappoint you. They won't be as clear or sharp as the mikros, but for some reason, I enjoy these very much as well. If only they were just a bit clearer, then I'd actually pick these over the mikros, but I'm actually okay with how things are.

While I state that these have more bass than the mikros, it isn't a HUGE difference, it is a slight difference that can be heard when A/Bing.

If you don't enjoy them, I am truly sorry.

X1 pads? Nope, they aren't easily replaceable at all

" I'm such a happy man! I could just cry now! " ML should compensate for this man happiness. Couple free Mikros 90s would do.

The dt1350 should fit perfectly because the dt1350 are ultra portable headphones just like the mikros 90😎...and also I ordered some high end cable for my fostex te-05😊

How does the size of the Mikros earpads compare to that of the JVC-S500s?
Smaller 😊

Ok, some initial impressions of the FiiO cable, think mochill posted something similar along those lines but i forget and is too lazy to find it.

The FiiO cable seems to add some slight fullness to the overall sound (although i would not say it's added warmth or weight), and when i mean slight it is nothing really mind blowing but you can still pick out the difference. Not just that but it is kinda similar to the V-Moda cable in that it also adds some airiness as well, although it's not as airy as the V-Moda cable. The FiiO seems to sound the most "musical" to me, and by this i mean that it retains almost all the characteristics of the stock cable but adds some slight fullness and airiness which lifts up the soundstage further.

The stock cable is tight, snappy, punchy and the most clean, crisp, and clear sounding therefore many MIGHT have perceived these characteristics as kinda' "lean/ thin" sounding due to it's lack of fullness. The FiiO is therefore literally right in between stock cable and the V-Moda sonically in that if provides that slight fullness the stock one is lacking but is not overly airy like the V-Moda one. They didn't really add more weight, bass impact/ punch and true fullness that i had hoped for, but it still sounds pretty damn sweet and is the most musical/ fun of the three. The stock one is the most true to the sound of these Logans, the FiiO adds some fun factor into the mix, while the V-Moda makes these sound like an semi-open back set of portables due to the softer more airy sound.

Lets see how that el cheapo beats cable i got for $4.70 fit into the scheme of things, should be getting it by the end of the week.

Oh and the FiiO cable is thick, stiff and very rubbery feeling in a cheap kinda' way. LoL They sure as hell don't look like a $30+ cable. Thank god i got them from a trade, it is worth a try if you have some extra cash to burn, but the sound is not THAT significant of a difference to warrant their $30 plus price me thinks. And i still like the sound of the stock cable most........... for now.

edit: actually i might have to take that statement back, the FiiO cable is pretty damn musical. Will keep posted..........

Sorry guys, these are going back. Newegg offered a full refund for the pad and driver flex issues I'm having and since I have a TDS-16 on the way, I don't think I need any more portable headphones. I'm still going to let them burn in overnight and if the upper mids get better, I'll consider re buying them, but for now I'm kind of lukewarm about them. They most definitely are better than their price tag would dictate, and I prefer them to the K545, W1000X, P7, and H6, but the problem is that I prefer my ZMF, which does everything the Mikros is doing...but better. I'd rather put the $90 towards the HE500 that I know I'll love.
