You are not the only one.  I loved my K702s until the day my T1 replaced it.

i had the HE6 for 6 months n i struggled to find a sweet spot until i slapped on the AD2000 microsuede pads...then the intimacy came...with a big soundscape.

I find myself captivated for once by the grandiose deep into the night floating on golddustedplates.

Then the right connector had to die on me, now i am left wondering whats the next best thing to do...go for a copper cable..which i think will add to the intimacy?

So its a WIP (workinprogress) to scale this mountain further. This is a crazy hobby, no logic to it..if there is, i would have killed it like PapaMikros :P

(To be honest, i love CLOED CANs...pro900..dt770/600..D7k...captivates me to no end...that private ambience..oooo)

And i dun like to pit a CLOSED CAN TO AN OPEN CAN...Or to intimidate a $1000can with a $90can:tongue:

But this Molehilmarvel of a can...

The Mikro$90... is like a cross between a T1(spacious halogenic clarity) + LCD2( textured honeyed impactfulness)

and the best part is it works remarkably well on simple sansa/ipads stuff,

i felt guilty savoring a bigbig orchestra in full swing with my MacBreakfast,

the world oblivious to my enjoyment.;)

I am listening to READY FOR LOVE by KELLY SWEET now...

her voice, intense, densely refined..intimate, soaring..

let me try to get another for 70? :P

:beerchug:

That post was a thing of whackiness and beauty!

Would this Mikros be an excellent can for such?
Given its soundstage, clarity, bass texture n slamm ..if u hav a slam cable tongue.gif

I dun either (lol), but I have read plenty that the Phillips X1's excel for gaming (I happen to love them for muzak :)

should i hav snagged the X1 for 150?  it was staring me in the face...

but the tot of ripping off the pads stopped the possible romance.

i did peel the Uptown, it was nasty.

But doable..

thats some comfort for u i guess.

:D

Those might be next on the list for me. Between the T1, HD800 and LCD-2/3/X

The T1 replaced the K702...and then the HD800 replaced the T1.    I would take both the T1 and the HD800 over the LCD-2 in heartbeat.   The LCD3 is really good, but it is not as comfortable as the HD800.    Good luck...it will be fun but expensive.

Yeah it'll be a while. Maybe next year at around this time. My bank account has to recoup from the HE-6 at this point in time

Oh yes, you definitely shudav! The non-replaceable pads are a concern (although someone has been able to do it), but mine so far seem to be holding up very well. And yes, very comfy!

And before Sf jumps in and says that they weren't the "end all" for him (thankfully so, because I got mine from him lol), all I have to say is that he's crazy lol!

Oh, and had the uptowns. Different universe.

The pads are EASILY replaceable. There's two or 3 different options on Amazon.

my lcd2 came with a silver toxic...it was FUN from day 1 for me, never regretted this purchase.

opps...i just put on the hd650/spc cable, and the flavor is more sonorous.. beefy...hefty...grander...less clarion...different kettle.

Every good recording I listen to on these continues to impress, they just sound so alive, full of emotion, and 3 dimensional. I've absolutely fallen in love with these headphones, can't wait to start tube and cable rolling!
