Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones - Page 82

I'm official now that my 90 have arrived.

Next to the more beefy HM9. They are warming up after being on the cold UPS truck all day. All the metal parts fogging up after I took them out. Best to let them acclimate to room temp for a while  then I'll take a nice listen!

One Mikros arrives, another is to come. Newegg just took my money. I'll have them Thursday

Posting the pics is just part of the initiation in becoming an official member.

Finally got them.

I don't hear anything particularly great about them out of my HM700 at the moment. They pale in comparison to my ZMF and I honestly prefer the Yamaha HP3 I bought for $20. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, you're not allowed here. Lol, just kidding. My guess is that they are not seated on your ears properly.

I'm getting plenty of bass (more than the W1000X) but the midrange sounds weird to me.

I hated them out of the box. It definitely takes time. They also may not be on your ears properly (theres a good seal, its just the sound isn't reaching your eardrum properly).

Hahahaha...I also just own one.

We are in the minority here.

The mids sound kind of metallic, which I've never heard in a headphone before.

Let them burn in.

A few owners were not wowed at first listen...and now they own more than one pair.  :D

Put them in the microwave for a 30 seconds...listen to them...and then give us your impressions.

Not only will that leather be crispy, the burn-in will be over with!

NO MORE 200+ hours of burn-in needed! ;)

^Will take some burn-in and time for the learning curve for the proper fit. I don't think I'm really ready to comment on their sound much yet except that they ae great cans. Fit into the CD666 "reference" slot like I thought they would. Clamp is quite stable and fine for me even with glasses. Not any long term comfort issues yet as I go back and forth between the Sony and Mikros comparing them.

Damn UPC is gonna be a bitch to peel off for my rebate. Where's the hairdryer? Glad I don't have to cut that box
