Even $10,000 bookshelves speakers can not deliver the bass in the same level of $5,000 floor standing speaker (both quantity and quality)?  Why on earth, I will compare floor standing speaker with tiny headphones?

Read my comparison again, it's between Mikros 90 and ESW11LTD. I give Mikros more favor 4 from 5 areas. And seem that it's not enough for Mikros fan here!!

I'm a royalty fan of Martin Logan speaker for 30 years and I always share opinion with all others without any problem.

So the best way not to annoy people here anymore, I will not comment any thing in this thread again.

As waynes world said, you are not annoying anyone.  This is a discussion board and I was just discussing the Mikros with you.

My FiiO RC MH1 has been sitting at the PO since last week!  Delivery man did not leave me a "notice of intent to deliver".  Will try to pick up the cable right after work today, Deo volente.

The custom UPOCC silver cable is now getting terminated.  Ted is using a Viablue T6s plug at the headphone end, but had to strip off all the plastic housing to get it to fit the MLs.  Copper cable is in the making as well.  :smile_phones:

Running the Bada with the GE 6SN7GTA driver to good effect.  Am looking into the Burson Soloist as well, but had better hold back before I have to hock the family jewels to outfit the Mikros 90.

Congratulations!

Let us know your impressions when the MLs arrive.

. . . . and don't mind the mad men who frequent this thread!  (We're just "mad about" the Mikros 90.)

:beerchug:

p.s. I sent Sf a PM saying that there is NO WAY the Mikros 90's are going to sound better than the M500's. The M500's are awesome (listening to some Jeff Beck... edit Dave Mathews... on them as well speak - nice). But, since I have the 90's on the way, I won't be devastated if I end up eating crow :)

Would you like your crow grilled or lightly sauteed?  :smile_phones:

I like mine with just a dash of cayenne.

I can understand why some people rip them so hard because they are on-ear, not over-the-ear or in-ear which are much easier to fit. The technique for fitting them properly is to start low and back and adjust up first, so that the bottom of the earpad is just barely above the earlobe - then forward until the bass extension is at its peak. At this point, treble and midrange will be natural - not sibilant, and not in-your-face.

For me, the pads must be aligned just low enough, and just forward enough, upon the ear so that the clamping pressure does not close down the Tragus.  I adjust mine so that the front edge of the cup housing, at about 1/3 of the way down, rests on the very back edge of my cheekbone, at its juncture with the mandible hinge.  When the seal is "right", I feel a sort of vacuum or suction sensation in the inner ear.  Also, I think that the bony contact at the cup edge interface may serve to enhance/enlarge the sonics, and contributes to that wonderful "out-of-the-head" spatiality of the Mikros 90 soundscape.  Swiveling the earcups slightly forward to increase this bony contact pressure puts the finishing touches on an adequate seal.

FiiO RC MH1 is IN!!!  There was 77 cents postage due, but the "postage due" notice must have gotten lost in the last snow storm.

I'll do raw, unburned-in impressions tonight when I get back from work, then run it in with my office equipment.
