I read when it came out, it had game support issues and crashed some games...namely BF3 if I recall, which I don't play anyways...
I was wondering if anyone knows if they addressed the issues that supposedly plagued the Phoebus....
I know its not quite up to par with other Asus cards in the same price range, and even potentially outclassed by the cheaper DGX and STX, but I was instantly attracted to the breakout headphone controller--the one thing I miss about my crappy but convenient USB headset is the mute/volume control, especially upgrading to windows 7 where muting isn't as easy as it used to be. The other thing I was considering is the superior headphone support--I was considering also purchasing some nice headphones to go with it, thinking something up to $500 price range (although I haven't decided on this either) given it has a somewhat hefty headphone amp.
Currently using onboard audio and Audio Technica ATH AD700's--which is great, don't get me wrong--but kind of miss bass. For reference mostly play non-FPS's/big into League of Legends & Indies and into Techno & DnB on the music side, so while I'm not wanting to overload on bass, was hoping to consider an upgrade to what I have now.
Any thoughts or advice?
