What phones would Godspeed You! Black Emperor sound good on?

A rather odd question, but i've seen threads that ask the same for Tool and The Mars Volta

 

I wanted to get the Amperiors, but when asked how they sound on it someone said they sounded flat. I've noticed Godspeed's production ranges from ok to downright horrible so it's hard to find a phone they sound good on. I listen to a lot of similarly recorded music so i'm assuming if they sound bad on one most of my music will.

 

Would prefer closed or iem

I don't mind some of the closed back beyers for that sort of music.  I like somewhat bright, but fast headphones with good separation for most sorts of post rock though, cause I think it feels a bit too muddled without that great separation.

 

Most of the things I like them on are open back though. :(
