Just wanted to let everybody know that I ended up buying the CX985 for myself. The new pair sounds just as good as I remembered, and I finally got to see the new carrying case! Some minor issues, though: 1) the packaging only included one small and 2 medium pairs of the extra bass tips (no large pair), and 2) came with a defective shirt clip that failed to swing open until it broke in half. 
Not sure what you're trying to say here. The CX985 doesn't have a mic (only analog volume control), so there shouldn't be any issues.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. The CX985 doesn't have a mic (only analog volume control), so there shouldn't be any issues.
