Get this instead for $200, and add a $20  32GB microSDHC card. Say no to tablets, phones or mp3 players that lack a card slot.

I strongly agreed with you. iPad Mini is extremely over priced and it does not sound great unless Wolfy inside.

Go and buy a Samsung 7.7 with Super amoled screen, and eat some popcorn. With Jelly bean on it, is blazing fast, and battery life is amazing.

for the ones looking for a portable tablet to go with a dac, wel, ubuntu is testing it's port to NEXUS 7. so you could have a full fledged linux there, with alsa and whaterver it gets(basically, standard linux usb host and audio support hopefully). Sadly it won't go past 32 GBs.

That may be a way to go. not sure.

A cirrus logic chip doesn't have the rolloff the wolfson chips in the iDevices have. So, a cirrus chip is actually better. Only a fanboi would lie to themselves & others by CONSTANTLY saying otherwise,...

Could be, although in all fairness there are still a lot more tablet-specific apps for iOS than Android. (says the guy with an Android tablet)

There is no "iPad killer",... When it's popularity goes it'll go. It's as simple a that. And if Apple keeps screwing up like they've been it'll die out sooner than later,...

I'd still like to have an iPad Mini to go along with my Galaxy Tab.....to see which one I really liked better. But I'd end up having to use them for different things....the iPad wouldn't play a lot of my video files, for example.

You'd also end up using the iPad mini for your gaming as well,...wink.gif

I'll take 'boring' over the quirks many have ascribed to Android on other devices, particularly the DX100 ....

Boring means it works when you turn it on and want to listen to music/watch a movie. Boring is good.

Umm.. Sadly Samsung isn't supporting 7.7 anymore... ie. no Jellybean update. My dad bought one less than 3 months ago, now stuck on ICS... Strangely the slower Tab 7.0 2 is being supported though >..< That is unless you go the custom rom route~ I'd really rather have a boring iOS device that is guaranteed upgrades for at least the next 2 years!
