20$ IEM Recommendation

post #1 of 33
Thread Starter

My budget is 20$ and i can buy them on ebay.  Im mostly listening rock music like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd..., but I listen other genres as well expect rap. They will be connected mostly on Xperia Arc S without headphone amp.

My paypal is not linked to CC so my max budget is 21$ with shippping, i cant go over it :(

From what i found these fit the price.

JVC Xtreme Xplosives
http://www.ebay.com/itm/150818571810...84.m1438.l2649
AKG K324P {can someone tell me if they are fake?}
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251137492447...84.m1438.l2649
Sennheiser CX 200
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sennheiser-C...item416d235102

Or if you have other suggestions...

I know that SuperLux 668B/Samson SR850 are considered as "giant-killers" and there is a lot of hype on this forum. Are there some IEM that have the same reputation here?

for that price i can only recomend the philips SHE368#

Thanks for your answers, I found a few more recommendations for Philips IEM.
Here's what i found on ebay that are in my budget.

Philips she3580

Philips she3590

Philips she9500

Philips3680 {what's the diffrence between these and 3580}

Xdkun ck700 {I found them being recommended over philips 3580}

I would be really grateful if someone can help, since i cant hear any of these headphones...

Monoprice 8320 + Comply T500/400 will put you right around $20.

I've shorten my list to these two

JVC fx1x vs Philips SHE3580

Which one is better for rock music?

post #9 of 33

the fx1x may have too much bass

You might have to take a look at this latest revelation:

JVC HA-FX40 if you can tolerate strong treble, otherwise the Panasonic RP-HJE355.

I have one doubt now. I currently listen my music on mobile on Sony Ericsson MH650

Will the upgrade to JVC fx1x/Philips SHE3580 be worthy and will the sound quality be noticeably better?

post #13 of 33

Don't get the HA-FX1X. It is quite large, and some including myself have fit issues with it. The newer JVC HA-FX101 is smaller and said to be much better(i haven't heard it yet) if you want an extra bass IEM.

post #14 of 33

I had the FX101, it has CRAZY bass, but way too much for my liking.  Overall quality was good, but not to my tastes.

I have a pair coming tomorrow, will post impressions compared to my SHE3580.

I actually purchased a pair of SHE3580 earlier this week, they sounded so good that I purchased 4 total haha.

I purchased them there, under $7 shipped EACH.... you really can't go wrong.
