I would add that if you pay more than $2500 for NIB PWD2 you got bent over :D  And at that price, I actually paid even less to my door in Canada after shipping, taxes and such, it's a great option.  At $4K?  Next.

I
Cante, you should quote reply to give context. No one here bad mouthed the MKII. It was specifically referencing other impressions, some of which
are from people known to have rash feelings when it comes to gear.

I hear ya. . But my statements were meant mostly meant to stand alone as my personal impressions. I avoided the quote to avoid being misinterpreted as being confrontational or having an attitude.

I would suggest he look into the Bryston BDA-2 (very nice DAC with the GS-X and LCD-3s).

Will look into it MacedonianHero :). I guess to keep things simple my question is does the GS-X really offer more sound quality in comparison to Schiit's Mjolnir or future Statement Gear for the LCD-3? I'm only planning on owning one headphone "LCD-3" for a good period of time, say 6-7 years lol. Thanks Hero!

Yes.  I'd even put the Burson Soloist ahead of the Mjolnir which I found very aggressive.

Awesome, looks like I'm on the right track then. All that's left is the DAC. So far I'm hearing Bryston BDA-2 or PWD2. It's just that the PWD2 has a hefty price! Where could I get one brand new for a better deal? I'm actually going to start trying to find that right now and keep an eye on the Bryston. Thanks Solude and Macedonian! Thank you to all the others inputting information as well :). Very appreciative with all the help.

I've owned the WA22 (with about $1k of upgrades tubes) and the Liquid Fire (with $500 of upgraded tubes) and the GS-X has bested both (and my good margins). Here I am more than a year later with no interests in any new amps.

I guess $2,000 would be my budget for the DAC.

That would fall just under both the PWD2 and BDA-2 unless you can find a local Bryston dealer willing to deal down from the $2400 MSRP.

I was also looking at the exaSound e20

So damn many....

Sheesh, that's a ton! I heard that the QB9 is a good USB DAC... Only problem is that I've heard USB doesn't reproduce as good of quality music than Coax S/PDIF does, lol. Thanks for that list preproman! Gonna start fideling with the pc to look at these.
