The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread - Page 25

How about:

4-pin XLR, left XLR/ SE 1, right XLR/ SE 2 ?

Next time just kick whoever suggests combos in the junk ;)  Not worth the headaches it's giving you.  I found a way to balance the jacks with text but getting labels to a centre connector... nothing.

Justin do you have a template? Something straight and facing us.

Actually here's a good image to work from:

Something like this?

Smaller text. Look at the current V1 GS-X:

Actually.. looking at the V1 again, is the V2 front panel smaller? Seems like the XLR holes take up quite a bit more space.

Of course I am interested in these suggestions, as I have one of these amps on order... smile.gif

The face plate should not get to crowded, and should not have superfluous information, e.g. I don't think the words "output" or "headphones" are actually needed.

I like the template provided by Solude. I would slightly modify the label for the left connector:

instead of "BALANCED" on top and "STEREO" on bottom of the connector, I would only use:

"BAL L+R" on bottom of the connector and nothing on top.

This would also nicely correspond (fit) to the labels for the middle "BAL L / SE" and the right "BAL R / SE" connector

I vote for this^^^

I guess I'm confused.  Does the GS-X v2  have dual (left and right) balanced XLR outputs for headphones?

The top is to restore balance.  That connector is lower and need somethings for it to balance out or it looks off.

Previous text was 2.5mm, now 2mm.  Pick up a ruler... that's small ;)

i dont think i will put the text on top of the 4-pin jack.  what i meant was the overall balance of the panel would be created by the engraving, --- that would be the name of the amp engraved on the top left side of the amp

It does but they are also combo jacks so each XLR output also has a SE 1/4 jack in them.

Or just include a XLR to SE cable adapter (like Q-Audio's (I love mine))

Doesn't work in reverse ;)
