The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread - Page 189

I am not going to use my W3000ANV with GS-X, for that I have Svetlana 2. Most likely I will buy HD800 to pair with GS-X, or maybe LCD-X, I am not fully decided yet.

Spending this amount of money on an amp and your not going to even give it a try? Strange.. They atleast shouold be compared - you think?

That is pretty much where I am. I think that it will be the HD800 for me. I love the layering that is revealed with a good amp.

Did I say I won't ever try it? I just said I am not going to use W3000ANV with GS-X as a regular pairing. Svetlana 2 is perfect match for W3000ANV for about 50-60% of music I listen to - that being said, W3000ANV have their limitation which no amp will be able to "fix" (it's not necessarily a fault, it's just that their presentation is so nicely colored that some genres do not sound natural - most noticeable in big orchestral pieces for me). The rest ~40% will require more spacious, layered and detailed signature - which I believe HD800 with GS-X will provide. However, I am a bit afraid of HD800 being too sparky and crispy, eventough I am not basshead I don't like piercing highs (that's why I am going to use copper cables, that should help to tame it down a bit).

In short, my plan is: jazz + metal (hard rock) => W3000ANV+Svetlana 2; classical music + soundtracks => HD800+GS-X .

Do not panic.  There are more than a GS-X 230 Volts silver with DACT in this batch, I'm sure. So I hope yours and mine.

Still hate it for you... Glad to hear you didn't lose a lot of inventory, hope you didn't lose anything of personal value either. Floods flat-out suck.

I hope for you that you will not have any damage. Flooding is always a difficult time for everyone.

Hope the waters are receding now! I live in a city that is badly affected by flooding, i hope your cleanup is not too bad.

I guess this was the same low pressure system that we had a week ago vacationing on Puerto Rico. Torrential rains, thunderstorm that make you keep your head down. Mudslides in the rainforest national park, so access closed beyond the visitors center. This went north to the mainland US.

I hope nothing beyond the packaging material got damaged, bad enough but most likely easy to replace.

Keep a pump handy for the next time and a small generator in case the power goes missing :o.
