Like all things worth while in life you can't rush quality.
it was a joke which I'm sure you are aware of?

Missed the sarcasm. Opse. I would have believed you because I think the wait is worth it. ;-)

If you shoot Greed a PM (he had the GSXMK2 and the Stratus) he can inform you in detail about the 2 amps. He has recently sold both to fund a Levi. As far a I can remember his thoughts were that the GSX is a better amp over all but for HD800 he preferred the DNA Stratus.

When you visit my place in late summer Paddy, it'll be interesting to know your thoughts on how the HD-800 / DNA Stratus compare to the 009 / BHSE, personally ( especially since using the PH tubes with my BHSE ) I think the 009 / BHSE will take some bettering.
I don't think the HD-800 / GS-Xmk2 will better the 009 / BHSE, but if you bring your HD-800's with you which you might be doing, we'll find out.

P.S. Obviously SQ is down to personal tastes.

Same. On top of that I remember someone saying the next batch will take even longer a few weeks ago.

It will run about $6-8k and you would need to talk directly to Craig about it. The only link I can give is not allowed here and the person who is running development is banned here so I can't give you his name either. In any event we're off topic and crapping Justin's thread.

true - if you google it you can find some info and images anyway.

I look forward to hearing your BHSE rig. I would love to get that pelican case to fit the Stratus and HD800 and do some comparisons between the 3 systems. Although that would mean that i wouldn't make it until September. GSX vs DNA vs BHSE would be very interesting. It would be great to have all of those together in a room for a session

While I don't see a problem in you bringing your HD-800's Paddy, I do think you'd be taking a big risk in bringing the DNA.
Obviously to do a proper comparison, it would be best to have the amps in question together at the same time, but if you brought your DNA and something happened to it, I'd feel very guilty.
Even though the HD-800 might sound better with the DNA than the GS-Xmk2, I still think the HD-800 / GS-Xmk2 might be good to compare to the 009 / BHSE.
I've been listening to my 009 / BHSE for several hours today though , and I have to say ( IMO ) the HD-800 / GS-Xmk2 have a job on, IMO even the HD-800 / DNA might.

as someone who heard all amps in question side by side let me please drop my 2 cents. I have not heard anything better than the BHSE but that amp with TOTL STAX is worth a small car so it better be good! . However, BOTH the GSX and the Stratus come in close second. To me (for what I like) these 2 amps are equal quality, but each gives you a bit of something different. I feel that if anyone prefers one to the other it is simply a matter of taste. GSX for me is the ultimate transparent amp and Stratus is the ultimate amp for tube warmth without the relative loss of transparency (within that price range). I also think that preference of one to the other could be skewed by a DAC that is used and qualities (vs. quality) of the recording. I realize that I just dropped a bunch of cliches but (to drop another one) you need to hear each amp in your system with your music to really know if you like it. Sorry to provide no real insight.

God Amp is different.  It is a 445 based amp.  The Leviathan on the other hand is a 2A3 amp.  Both will be by Eddie Current.  Leviathan is no holds bar 2A3 amp that is still in design phase as the key designer is extremely picky and is still parting out the build with finding the right transformer as Tango went out of business at wrong time. On the other hand, the GOD Amp has been built and is on the "undisclosed" list of amps you can buy from Eddie Current today.  I believe a run of the GOD amps are being done at the moment.

To do a proper comparison, if Paddy was prepared to take the risk in bringing the DNA, (when he has it ) it would be the best way to do a comparison, I've mentioned before though, I believe my main source which will be used, shortens the gap in SQ between headphones / amps being used.

P.S. You're right about preference Cante Ista, because what I'm wanting from listening to a headphone system is as much detail and transparency as possible, and my 009 / BHSE / K-01 gives me that more than any other headphone system I've heard, but others might be wanting a different kind of SQ.

When I heard GSX next to Stratus, the Stratus had a rolled rectifier tube, but I am not sure about the 2A3 tubes.

I am waiting to get the GSX when Justin ships this batch and I may do a thorough side by side. I will then use the 2A3z from Shuguang in the Stratus which I am using now.

I'm finding the HD800 to be a great match with my GS-X MK2.  In fact the combo sounds very sublime together.  No they are not an equal to the BHSE/009 combo but aren't too far behind either.
