I guess we are a little off topic here already with the price discussion but what can you do when you are waiting for the next batch of GS-X MkII ? ;-))

Not only VAT or local sales tax, also the competitive situation in the market place influences the "creative process" of setting a price. A pair of Levis Jeans here in the US is somewhere around $30 to 40 on sale maybe only $25 each, if you buy two. The exact same pair of pants cost about 90 Eur over in the old world. Mind you that all of these pants are made in low wage countries.

A pro grade Stihl chain saw (made in Germany) is around 1000 Eur in Germany and $700 in the US.

Does it makes sense from a consumer perspective ? No it does not, I fully agree but that's the way it will always be, unless we have a complete open market place with no trade barriers and you can order globally without import duties.

Which is why I said Canada to Canada.  Because yes it tends to cost less to buy Canadian products from the US and ship them up ;)

Is anyone pairing the HE-6 with the GSX-MK.2? I would love a few impressions if possible.

I did for my review. I dont believe it has the headroom necessary for large scale recordings. I covered it in my review which will be published 4/11 at Part Time Audiophile. I bought the MK2 so I like the amp but prefer the WA5   or speaker amps for the hE6.

Did you buy the review sample?  If so, that's saying a lot.  I am looking forward to reading your review.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I do not have the room for a large speaker amp. I currently use the Auralic Taurus MK.II. It sounds great but not powerful enough for the HE-6. The GSX should provide considerable more power. But as you say the question I need to decide is if it is enough

I have been anticipating your review, Frank, and look forward to reading it this week.

Gsx is adaquate, itll drive it, enough power for most people. But a good speaker amp is better and youll hear it (smoother treble, better control in bass, dynamics. And imaging)

Have you heard the LCDXC through your GSX?

Dub, how are you liking the lcd-xc vs the lcd-3?

I was thinking of switching too.

Yup,I know.

Perhaps I should have been more clear, I want to switch TO LCD-XC (sell my lcd-3)

Any update? Trying to stay patient. Ironically, one of the reasons I ordered the GS-X was because other amps I was interested in were still in the design phase and I didn't want to wait for them. Those are now soon to be released.
