The HeadAmp GS-X and GS-X MK2 Thread - Page 144

Yeah what Audio Jester said.  People "sometimes" will cancel their order on either the GS-X or the BHSE.  If your deposit is in, then you'll be able to take that persons spot.  It's a waiting game so to speak.

While I understand that we got used to getting our stuff the day after we decide to buy it, waiting for an amazing product like the GSX or the BHSE is worth it. Check out how often people get rid of them and how they hold their value. It is like buying a BMW or a Benz. Justin is a small operation so he deserves a break and if he does not respond to emails immediately. It is because he is working in his shop and sitting around on the computer. He does get back eventually. Finally, longer waits mean that if you wonna sell your amp it will get picked up in no time, so there is an advantage in that as well.

Re GSX and Stratus -- they are very different amps, with very different presentations. I got both for that very reason. If anyone will chose,  you need to hear them before deciding.

Are you serious ? what if something needs a repair ?

From ordering to receiving my GS-Xmk2, the wait time was around 6 months.
The wait time for my BHSE was 15 months.
Was the wait time worth it ? You bet, and NO they are not for sale.

Would you ever consider bringing them to a meet, like say the London meet? I would of gone to the last one if any of those amps were there. My main reason for not going was because they weren't there. There was also no DNA :(

I did take my 009's and BHSE to the Cambridgeshire head-fi meeting last year, and in doing that I took a risk. The risk was that all my audio gear is only insured via my home insurance, so if anything had happened at that meeting, I wouldn't have been able to claim a thing.
So sorry but the answer is no, they'll be staying in my home, however if you're prepared to get yourself to my place, you are more than welcome to have a listen to both the BHSE and GS-Xmk2.

I might take you up on that and stay around Yorkshire for a nice weekend in the summer. ;)

David that lives around 15 miles from Cambridge visited my place the other day, and brought his HD-800's and HDVD-800 to compare to my 009 / BHSE. So it's a lot easier ( for me ) for someone to visit me, it's just whether they are prepared to do that.

I didn't even think of that. Good point. I wanted to bring my GS-X to the upcoming February Bay Area meet if it ships in time. I still might.

Ask your agent to see if there is a special endorsement that will cover personal property off premise.  Each state will vary on this option but I have it and it is worldwide with no deductible because it is endorsed on the home policy.

The risk with the GS-X is less so than with the BHSE because of the tubes, but it's still a risk, unless you can insure it and still make a claim no matter where you take it. However assuming you do take it to this meeting and it's broke, not sure how long you'll be waiting for it to be fixed, and if it's broken beyond repair, you'll have to place another order.
Sorry for being pessimistic, but these things can happen.

I know how you feel.  Whenever I take my R10 & Qualia to the meet I always have similar feeling that I don't want to take them.  I love my gears and treat them with kid gloves and can't bare the thought of someone dropping & damaging them.  One guy placed a drink near my gears and I had to set him straight real fast politely.  He was a tad angry at me but I could careless about him.

Odd. In Canada (or at least Ontario), your home insurance doesn't stop providing coverage once you take something out of your house and bring it somewhere else. So in England if someone stole your watch while you were out shopping you would be out of luck?

I think I can make the deposit around next month, maybe February.

Although it may depend on circumstances, does it really take around 1-2 years approximately, like what Maxvla says??

Look into the Master 9.

Realize it sounds 99% like the GSX, albeit probably even more neutral.

Pay half the cost-have it in less than 2 weeks.

Problem solved.
