You might just like the T! with the GS-X mk2.  I sure do..  The bass is full and hits hard, the mids are up front and accurate, not lush.  The treble is tamed and pretty smooth.

I've sold my beloved 4 channel Beta22 because of itfrown.gif

Best I've heard the LCD-3s and HD-800s FWIW. And the TH-900s are a fantastic match too. Sorry, don't have the HE-6s anymore, but many I trust say that the MKII can drive them quite well.

It can.  If you're a one amp person yeah.  If you would like to have multiple amps.  Go with a speaker amp.

Here's one of the people I trust that said that. biggrin.gif

GS-X mk2 is the best amp I've had with the LCD-3 and one of only three amps that made the HD800 tolerable.  Best of the three but the HD800 still wasn't or me in the end.

Pretty amazing.

The best comparison I can give is it sounds like a faster wa6-se+596+6EM7.

Lcd3 is amazing via balanced out fro the gsx-mkII.

If I didn't love the hd650s so much I'd more than likely sell of the wa6se. Hd650s just loves tubes way to much.

^ but there are a lot more out in the wild (including the GS-X MKI) and they still very rarely come up for sale...unlike some other vendor's gear with much less out there. biggrin.gif Says something about the owners being very satisfied with them, no?

I think we both had a point-for Pete's sake! biggrin.gif

Goes to show the Senn needs a tube in the chain, ime.

Just a few months ago, you were singing all the praises on the HD800 with GS-X with comments like this: "I've brought in the HD800 a few times but always had the Audeze already in house and always sold the HD800 soon after getting them, while the LCD-2 Rev1, Rev2 or LCD-3 stayed put.  This time is was a no contest... HD800 by a landslide." Sadly it seems that the HD800 has fallen from grace in your book into a pair of headphone that is tolerable. The funny part is an earlier comment actually said that you changed back and forth many times, ha... Seems like you are either very fickle-minded, or your comments are vastly exaggerated. (Sorry, can't help but noticed it while I was reading through the HD800 thread lately)

thats what i feel.

well, im gonna listen to the zana deux this week, see if i buy one. and if i don't, i'll keep WA2.

im worried the GSX won't be to my liking with HD 800 and T1, but im sure it will be excellent with LCD-3 and if preproman says its good with Hifiman, that too. i feel the WA6-SE is very close to what i want with LCD-3, but could use something better, seems like planars seem to play better with SS than with tubes. i'll be happy if the GSX can do HE-6 as well, and drive them to their best.

as for HD 800/T1, i love the sound of the WA2. its quite forgiving yet very revealing, i don't know if the GSX can pull that off or if it will be more unforgiving and too neutral sounding.

The GS-X mk2 is one of the best amps I've heard with the HE-500s.  This amp does orthos well.
