Awesome, look forward to hearing it. From the little I've read, the AK UI was a bit laggy. Never seen it in person, but IIRC that was 99% of the complaints. Price, I don't consider it to be a legitimate complaint, you want you buy, if not then don't.

I would definitely like to hear your thoughts on running the Intruder with the DX90 vs DX90 alone. Seems like the people in the DX90 thread are happy with just the player itself so wondering how much adding the Intruder helps.

I've been away from the forums for a while due to some health problems but thank god I've had my Intruder to keep me company while recuperating! Although the Intruder's DAC is no slouch, I use it with a Cypher Labs Algorythm Solo dB both when connected to my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 5 (the Solo dB is Apple certified). I bought the Solo dB from Moon Audio when it was on sale so I also had them supply me with a short (2") balanced cable using the RSA (Kobiconn) connectors to connect the Solo dB to the Intruder. He also supplied me with a couple of the RSA connectors so I could build my own cables and re-terminate my stock HD800 cables.

I highly recommend Moon - Drew at Moon and Ray at RSA work very cooperatively and their products complement each other very nicely! I can highly recommend Moon and RSA as very reputable dealers of some awesome portable audio components. I haven't purchased any desktop or home systems from either of them, but I'm sure they do an awesome job on those two.

I went with the Solo dB for my DAC as it does 192/24 sample/bit rate whereas the Intruder only handles 48/16. That said, when I have used the Intruder DAC, it has been surprisingly good. Does anyone know if the DAC upgrade to the intruder improves the sample/bit rate it can handle?

Hopefully someone can help me solve this issue....

When I use the intruder as a dac the volume is significantly lower, while attached to the SE input it works as it should.

All volume levels are maxed out on my laptop, any ideas?

New anniversary edition minus the dac?
Any news on this?
Enhancements, etc?

Can't find much info but I have an email in to Ray for a purchase.

Spoke to Ray, this is an intruder without the DAC. Great price too!

The sr71b and intruder do not share the same internals.

Should be interesting. I love the dac in my UHA-760 but the Mad Dogs and HD650 could use a little more juice.

I love the sound of ray's amps but the anniversary edition intruder puzzles me.
Aren't special/anniversary editions supposed to be special?
More features, upgrades, fancy case, tweaks, etc?
Less features than the current intruder for a lower price?
Doesn't seem special, but maybe more details will emerge.
Ray, I think you're great and love your amps but I'm puzzled so far on this one.

Well, you get a new Intruder for less than the original. Granite, no DAC but you can use any DAC your heart desires!

Isnt the intruder with no dac just the sr71b?

Good question I thought the latest version was, for the longest time Ray used to offer the Intruder with/without the DAC for only 50 bucks difference. I got the impression the special edition is his left over Intruders without the DAC lmao. ksc75smile.gif

I thought the sr71b was an intruder without a DAC. According to Ray, they don't share the same internals.... Which is odd since the 'intruder upgrade' is available for the sr71b.

I'm sorta confused.

I'm kind a wondering what he really puts in the amp eek.gif, special cooking recipe I guess smily_headphones1.gif
In anyway you look at it, both models are first class IMO.
