[REVIEW] Sony MH1 – The Best Kept Secret

Ok, while I'm waiting for my new white pair I decied to play with the filter and the foam. I pulled the filter with the foam out and begin to gradually reduce the foam and test the sound. In the end I returned the filter with around 1/3 of the foam attached to it and I do like the sound better. The treble is just right and I can finally enjoy female vocals better - I think if I reduced any more foam it will start to get harsh. I thinks the bass is reduced a little bit and the overall sound is more airy.

and it begins....LOL. I think I'd adjust the bass (if possible to do somewhat linearly) before I go there since there is an odd relationship between noncontinuous ranges. Bass vents are fussy and you can reduce the low bass while keeping the mid bass by adjusting it so no guarantees and it's still below Monster bass levels so probably just right for many. Right now, a very slight reduction might be good as some say the bass may sound slightly rounded.

MH1C's aren't basshead iems. These are basshead iems.

XB90EX. Hows about 16mm Dynamic vented an air chambered for your sub bass.

hehehe dsnuts I can understand what you mean

however bass head is a personal definition.. If I dinf the mh1 bassy enough I can only imagine what would I find on the xb90 probably turbo-jet fueled bass

Ya I can understand..I am a fan of different signatures so my collection of headphones and earphones range from open neutral ones to closed bassy ones. It makes for a more interesting hobby when I get stuff that does a particular sound really well.

These MH1Cs I feel has more of a consumer oriented tune which makes sense. I would be scared to hear what Sead can come up with for a higher end one. Lol..

Would anyone with the original GR07 like to comment on things does the MH1C does better [if so]?

Heading out now to pick up my parcel...

Well, after seeing the massive amount of hype coming from this thread and Dsnuts' thread MH1, I went ahead and ordered a pair from Amazon a couple days ago and they got here today. I'm listening to them now as I write this with virtually no burn in time and...

Wow.

I just...wow.

Best IEMs I've heard for the $22 I paid for them...and the others aren't even close.

Talk about value. These things are incredible.
