Awesome! Looking forward to them... Pls share how you end up with the eq settings.
It's sort of a few things. I look at available frequency response graphs, compare them to my studio monitors and other earphones/speakers, and i go somewhat "by ear" based on all my audio experience mixing and mastering music. I've come to be pretty familiar with what "flat" sounds like based on different graphing systems and how that compares with studio monitor speaker flatness.

It may not be a perfect method, but i don't see any major flaws with it, and it has improved every earphone i have noticeably for me.

The only catch would be if some experiences different peaks based on insertion depth or something, but i try to account for that and describe what depth and eartips i use with my eq.

Ebay.

Mine are on their way from Hong Kong and should be here next 2 days. Just got my clear Mogami cable today.Think I'll just use a clear y-splitter, no sense in having some bumpy y-splitter which is not really functional/needed.

These are the mh1c from the title anyway.  I'd look for the mh1 to make sure you get the best response.  The mh1c had more variation in bass...  Otherwise, they're pretty similar.

Excellent.  Good idea putting smaller heat shrink on the separate wires before covering the main y-area.  Probably adds a bit of strain relief.  Is that mogami innards or something?

no.. cat5 awg 24... had a 10meter cat5 kabel with broken tips laying around had to harvest the lines for it.. the wire it self has pretty hard flexibility and it has "memory" effect would work for just a short part directly on the earbuds for "over ear" wearing..

I have to look for better and also cheap cable solutions.. any suggestion in europe / germany? I am okay with DIY braids, its acutally relaxing, braided so much cables for my 7.1 speaker set and stuff...

my 50x MH1 was canceled and reduced to 20x :) I have to call the supplier and ask him if he will get more

I think Mogami spools work out at about 25c per foot with the amount of cables you are making.

I just stripped a Mogami mic cable, but it was a pain to take all the surrounding layers off. I got 4x 4 M out of it.

Plus Sound Audio also do great DIY cable deals.

I don't know about other countries. The best, cheapest cable here seems to be btg audio at .$0.80 /ft. I use some speaker wire i found locally. Monster brand, 25awg. It's $7 for 50 feet. Pretty flexible. Wish it were at least 26awg, but it works pretty good.
