Doesn't Swimsonny already have a pair?!
Doesn't Swimsonny already have a pair?!
Where did he state that he had a pair? Does anyone? Just started taking orders Jan 15!
Headfi is losing credibility lately, multiple accounts, replying to themselves, impressions on iem's they don't own?
RE-400 review samples have been sent to some users/reviewers a couple of weeks ago...
I knew you had a pair!
I'll also be getting the RE-400 to review
Clieos had both the RE262 and RE-400, I cancelled my RE-400 based on his comparision, rather than by someones memory six months back!

Same here! Can't wait to test them against my other HiFiMan IEMs!

Actually, it does matter when you heard it. Memories tend to skew with time. As time expands out, certain aspects begin to stand out more than others. Some things are forgotten, some are stressed more than they need to be. As time goes on, any comparison with that given memory becomes skewed. So it does matter. A direct comparison is done within seconds, or even minutes from each other (at most) as opposed to months back. Time skews a memory, so the shorter the time, the better, and more accurate the result.
That said, you may be able to give signature differences through a memory, but the more intricate areas and properties of a headphone can also become skewed with memory.

Glad I cancelled the 400, if they are neutral with no real focus, I already have the RE272. and they are neutral, so I don't think the 400 would better the 272. I was looking for somthing more......maybe the 600 in due time. There are plenty of good dynamic iems outh there right now that would give the 400l plenty of competiton at that price....not looking for another neutral iem! Now that helped save me the troulble of trying and returning the 400, as I purchased the 262 and returned them within the 30days!
Wasn't saying the 400 were stated as being mid centric....but he compared the sound to the RE262 more than any other Hifiman iem. but the 400 more balanced than the 262!
That increases accuracy, but time still becomes a damaging factor. There are many IEMs that I no longer own. I have my reviews and notes on them, but couldn't do any valid comparison despite having those two things (yet still knowing a general signature).
Are the new RE400 closer to the 252?.....anyone? Now that was a nice neutral IEM but bad casing. IS this the one in a better casing?
