Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600 - Page 183

I found EPH100 to be a disappointment after being used to RE400. Instrument accuracy was not good for me, strings, trumpets, cymbals, etc. But the bass is def. more solid. I returned mine after a couple of weeks. Have been trying X11 and have same issue, though I like them a lot better than EPH100. I am not a happy camper with RE400s by a long shot. Looking for something with better bass but not giving up so much with accuracy.

Have any of you guys tried these tips with the RE-400s? http://www.radioshack.com/auvio-silicone-replacement-tips-medium/3300784.html#q=auvio%2Btips&start=2

Yes!  But I use them on my RE-600's which work just as well.  I use the mediums with the blue core.  I get a great seal and since the core is a little longer, the fit is a little shallower than some of the stock tips and I think the result is a slightly better sound stage.  I'm glad I tried these... they work well for a lot of my iem's and are relatively cheap and easy to get!

it seems the eph 100 have quite a large following compared to the fxt90s, which sound like they would have similar sort of sound signature.

any chance you tried the new yamaha eph M100?

they look very different (very plasticky)

now you made me wanna get a pair of those eph100s! they never seem to move in terms of pricing! where are the deals!

Not tried the M100 myself but many have reported that they definitely aren't an upgrade to the EPH100. More like a side grade.

You should definitely pick up a pair of EPH100s, the difference between them and the EPH100 will really be apparent. You'll put down the FXT90 and probably not touch them again for a couple of weeks lol

The cheapest price currently for EPH100 is here:
www.audioaffair.co.uk/yamaha-eph100-earphones

2 year warranty too!

The EPH100 is widely regarded as the best IEM for Trance music at its price. The RE-400 is nowhere when it comes to being as fun and engaging as the Yams.

Picked them before seeing this post and you're right, they do work quite well! Perfect bore size for the RE-400s and the mediums fit me well too. $3.99 for two pairs of the same size is fair to me, glad they didn't decide to go with a variety pack of sizes. Glad I went with these. :D

the re-600 is very good for its new price tag (199$)

it also hits much better in the lows , has a much better soundstage and in general in my ears is a very big improvement over the re400.

Haha sorry but that's how Head-Fi works lol

I've not heard the IM70 but if you get the EPH100 you're bound to get satisfaction. xD
