I at least hope for better pads. But I really dislike ALL pleather pads. so if they are cheap enough and the AKG 240 velours still fit them I'll be insanely happy.

15 minutes and i have to take 668b off my head, can't stand the comfort even the sound is good lol.

I think I might shoot Superlux an email and ask if there is an ETA when these will start being sold. I think they might already be being sold in China.

Got a response today :) "Hi Sirs Thanks for your inquiry of HD681MKII..( it is not available yet. and it will officially release/delivery in Jan 2013 ) can you advise where is your location (country). we may ask our distributor to provide a better service to your end, thanks. p.s. it is NO online stores selling.. sorry.. You think they can get us actual photos instead of the ones that look computer generated?

I've heard several times that these are just re-shelled versions of the originals, without any driver changes etc. Can someone clarify this?

They aren't out yet anywhere so nobody would know. They will be released the beginning of next year. I don't think they would do that because they would be out already if it was that simple.

Thomann will sell them when they're launched (in January), now I'm only waiting to see how much they'll cost.

I think Superlux is trying to move up to higher-range headphones, but if I had to give a wild guess on how much they would be, I would guess $60 - $100
