How many headphones may have sibilant peaks over K550's price range anyway?
And what about the well appreciated beyerdynamic DTs? (not the tesla)
Aren't those peaky?
What is the source of these comparisons?
various sources, forums mostly. Except the ones i've audition myself: K550, ZX700
Audeze LCD-2. One of the best cans in the world and frequency response looks peaky on high frequencies. How is that?
Look treble amount is personal preference.
The resonance is just bad. And its been proven. I doubt any higher end headphones that are worth anything have it (this obviously excludes the disastrous D7100)

I've heard about sennheiser HD700's having resonances. I didn't hear them in my AKG, that doesn't mean i claim there is no resonance.
I found those graphs interesting i put above. I don't understand the difference between peaks in those compared to K550's graps. They look quiet peaky too.
I sent my AKGs back anyways and grabbed a used HD580 instead.

Just to note, I don't think the k550 are bad, they have their strengths (soundstage, imaging, isolation, comfort). But their weaknesses are more.
