These FXZs are harder to drive than most iems so while not 100% necessity these take to more power like a champ and scale accordingly.
As for the mids and treble. I think the reason why these will find favor from a majority of guys that get them is because of the relaxed nature of the sound on them. Yet lack zero detail. These don't force your ears into hearing the detail don't know if that makes sense. It does it naturally and effortlessly. Think a dynamic 3 driver version of the XBA-3. Even better because they are carbon based drivers. The highs and mid driver are micro HD drivers. One micro HD driver in a FXD80 gives off a crazy amount of imagery so you guys can imagine how 2 of them working in conjunction with a sub woofer might sound.
While the music floor of the XBA-3 tends to favor imagery and detail. These FXZ100s I feel are upgrades to the XBA-3 sound in that they add more depth more weight has just as much imagery but is even more enjoyable as sound is on a bigger scale. I know you didn't like the lively highs that was on the FXT90s. No worries here. The tuning on these are absolutely awesome. Everything is refined in the sounds.. No unnaturalness, No weird tonality, No sibilance, no sharpness, no unevenness,.. Just an absolutely enjoyable full sound. Basically if you guys end up with any one of these earphones. There will be much selling off of old gear I am predicting. Lol.
Tonality is a very natural one meaning there is no coldness or darkness to it. Because of the full bass end of both earphones the FXZ100 having less there is a slight tilt toward the warmer side of sound but I find this refreshing coming from JVC. Very easy to listen to but has this crazy amount of refinement that let you enjoy your music for hours with no fatigue of any kind..Very enjoyable the sound is. You guys will find out soon enough. Look forward to everyone's take on what will be 2 classics.
How JVC is gonna top these 2. I have no idea. But the way those guys innovate it wouldn't surprise me if there was a FXZ300 in the works.
