Mids are foward but aren't recessed either , its has a warm texture to them which is kinda ok .using the fiio e11 truely bring them to life with beautiful mids , tighter bass and more bigger stage.

Not too much bass , but the most ultimate bass texture will ever hear. My fxz200 has a much tighter bass comparex to open box.

ya after the 200 hr marker, well past it the bass isn't as boomy as it was out of the box or even at 100 hrs.  It sounds a bit more open to me.

These IEM's make me not want to listen to my full size cans...And I have a pair of JVC DX1000's which have awesome bass.

Sorry to repeat earlier questions, but I'm looking for a final answer here before ordering: how are the fxz100's with rock/metal? Do the drivers (especially the sub!) keep up with the speed or does it get a little muddy from time to time?

Really undecided between getting the Ortofon e-q5 or the fxz100. I know, very different sound signatures but I have no chance to audition them so need to figure out if these stay clear enough + give me the impact I look for.. the ortofon's would definitely be clear enough, but may lack a fun bottom end.. wink.gif

Also: how rediculous do they look in your ear? I'll be using them at work, so it would be appreciated if I don't look like a complete fool! biggrin.gif

I have the Fxz200 and theyre not the most airy earphone but in sayubg that theyre not muddy either, perhaps just a bit dark in their presentation. Theres no lack of detail though.

Exci, send me some link to music you listen and I'll try to compare the EQ-5 with the Fxz-100. I do not usually listen to Metal so.

I don't mind a bit dark; I prefer the IE7 over the RE0, and the former is even somewhat veiled. It's just hard to believe that all that extra punch below 100Hz stays clear, so thank you for sharing!
