I'm not talking about the design, I'm talking about the company in general. JVC, Sony, Phillips, TDK etc... Mainstream company's who stick to guidelines and limitations within a price tag. Their products are watched very closely in quality control, designed not to pass a certain standard for the price you pay. They have the most technology however set limitations on it. For most parts they stick to mainstream consumer orientated signatures because that's what sells.

Anyway, I'm getting a chance to demo FXZ100 in coming weeks, I'll give some feedback on my impressions. .smile.gif

Just wondering when any 200 owners noticed a real change after some burn in. I really like the sound coming out, but its just too boomy for me. And i'm pretty close to a basshead :). I've got about 60 hours into them so far. Really dont want to have to EQ them.

From what I hear with my pair now the bass seems to become more controlled after some burn in time...

So I tried searching this massive thread but couldn't really find what I was after.

What exactly is the difference between the 100 and 200?

200 has deeper bass (5hz vs 6hz for 100).
200 is brass based (100 is aluminum)
200 has pure silver coated cable
Etc...

...meaning the fx100 are more balanced/airy. i personally have yet to hear the fxz200 though.

just some thoughts, and good tunes they sound good on...

finally started burning in my 200's for real now- only have about 15 hours on them for now, no way I can't listen during the day working so it's just at night

Can't believe the sound after 503 hrs....sound detailed.....where is the bloated bass I remembered at 200hrs....mids where did you come from?......high sparkling and soundstage is open now instead of being compressed like it was before.....I really feel bad for ghe people that sold there fxz200 without a proper burn in of 500hrs that I went through...and wait was totally worth it biggrin.gif
post #2321 of 3163
The 200 have such a linear frequency response that nothing really seem more boosted then the other....while having an airy soundstage the is very deep and huge...now I can say without a dought that nothing touches these is presentation an sound quailty. biggrin.gif .......happy listening and for all the got the fxz series please burn them in for at least 500hrs before saying anything negative about them.

Burn them in for 20 days before saying anything negative? I am all for letting them burn in a little, but do you realize how crazy you sound? Lol

What is your source?

Cowon j3....watch and the amazing affect of burn-in...you'll be amazed REALLY biggrin.gif.........I'm not nuts status yet maybe a wee bit crazy biggrin.gif........I'm also getting a hisoundaudio studio 3rd anv. Edition by this week maybe,so I'll have a more powerful source so that I can burn in my babies easier and faster smily_headphones1.gif.....so you if guys don't believe me just take the crazy challenge and let them burn....then come and tell me what you hear....oh also I got a clip+ as a source, but it isn't that powerful for them carbon nanotube so I didn't use it for burn in only for listening to my psytrance and ambient music smily_headphones1.gif...... them carbon nanotube needs heavy beating for sure biggrin.gif

Before you guys say Mochill is crazy for suggesting such a long break in period. Actually you guys have to remember these drivers in these earphones are not your standard drivers. Carbon based drivers and on top of that they are micro hd. Meaning they are stiffer than you guys think. As crazy as it sounds. I wouldn't be surprised if both FXZs in sound ratchets up a notch just from doing a longer burn in..If you guys believe in burn in. Keep at it. If you don't..Than all this talk is nonsense..

My personal opinion.. Keep at it. You guys have nothing to loose from a longer burn in.

but by saying you need 20 days burn in before saying anything negative is a bit much.  I like me some burn in but I just listen to them. if it gets better great.  I liked them 20 hours ago, ill like them 20 hours from now.
