What if miow and all his other aliases are actually roommates that share the same computer...and they're all deaf!!

They can't talk directly to each other about headphones, so they take turns logging in and out of head-fi to discuss headphones! They also can't use sign language because they didn't pay any attention in class when they were younger!

Their deafness also explains why all their (miow's) impressions seem like forgery!!!

EEEUUURREEEKKAAA!

There's one flaw in your theory.

Why would they need headphones if they're deaf???

Although you could be right and it might explain why he/they called the XB800 the BEST BASSHEAD HEADPHONE EVER!!

Only a deaf person would make such a ridiculous claim.

I really don't like this pairing but they do look good together though

Unless all they can comment on is the bass... because its something you could feel. the perfect music for a deaf person is the beat of a drum!

i am liking ekes theory

I haven't heard the FXZ series, but FXT90 pairs quite well with HM-601 to my ears. I suppose the FXZ are tuned differently.

Have to cancel these due to a sudden financial situation arising. But for future reference, how do these compare sound-signature-wise to the S500? I know a fair amount of you guys own both.

I honestly don't find the S500 mids as forward as I like and the upper ranges are just stabbing my eardrums at the moment. I notice people saying the treble is rolled off, which sounds perfect to me, but the fact that mids are being complained about is worrying.

Maybe I should just look at getting a proper mid-centric, non-fatiguing IEM in the future like the UM3X. Well, since my finances are shot at the moment, perhaps the other upcoming releases will prove to be closer to the sound signature I'm looking fore.

I was really looking forward to these since they seem to be so special. Bummer frown.gif.

sorry to hear that.  hope everything works out well for you.

WOOOOO!!! Order placed! Tenso/amazon.jp :::: fxz-200's

signed up for prime, although it wouldn't have mattered because even with expedited shipping it will arrive at Tenso on Saturday. Actually had my credit card call me up after signing up for tenso, not too surprising... Hopefully everything else goes smoothly!

Ok this is officially the trickiest IEM I have owned for fit. I switched to the over ear method 2 days ago and was enjoying it but wondered about isolation and seal. So tonight I switched to largest most bulb like tip I had and suddenly I am getting more bass, mids, and treble plus much better isolation. Before the sound was getting a bit watered down buy now these are rocking again!

i agree, big tips are best. over the ear can be tricky though.

Edit:

if the bass is too much on the fxz200 for someone, i may be willing to work a trade with me fxz100 which are still burning in.

17833 Yen from Amazon, which is 209.50 USD w/ free shipping to Tenso.

I'm unsure of Tenso shipping/handling charges but I remember reading somewhere in this thread it was about 30 bucks more from them, so like 240 USD total, ain't too shabby

thanks. anyone have experience with with the fxz200 and the Xb90's? If so how did the two compare?

I want to drop in and say hello. just got the FXZ200 (and the S500). very nice quality bass from the 200 and i do not think it is excessive. it' a nice step up from FXT90. head-fi is bad for financial health :-)

well with the fxz100 and th xb90s i can tell you the sonys are not nearly as refined. though they are more mid focused and lots more bass with the not as foward highs (but you can EQ a bit). i cant decide which i like better, but im usually bass hungry. plus the sonys look and are built beautifully, fit is not %100 with jvc.

havnt heard the 200s yet, but im sure it will be somewhat more "balanced" than the xb90.
