How to connect everything

So I am getting a O2 and ODAC in the near future. They will be in separate cases so how will I connect everything to my PC?

PC to ODAC: USB to Mini-USB cable (included)

 

ODAC to O2: Mini (1/8") TRS male to Mini TRS male cable (standard ODAC)

 

If you have the ODAC with RCA connectors, you can use them instead of the Mini TRS connector.

Also do you need a balanced DAC if your using a balanced amp?

No, but it should give you better results.

If the O2-to-ODAC cable is only a few inches long, a balanced cable won't provide any benefit (except in extremely noisy environments.) OTOH, it couldn't hurt.
