So update on the battery life:

1. Charge time: 5 hours (give or take 30 minutes)
2. Discharge time :9 hours (give or take 30 minutes)

The above is based on three measurements I carried out by having the unit on the "On" setting meaning that the ipod touch was using its own internal battery.

Notes:

• I also noticed that the unit might be discharging while the unit is off when the ipod cable is connected to it. I cannot conform this yet but I will do that this week. 
• I have been in contact with the venturecraft team and they have been so helpful to me, excellent after sale service. So there might be a problem on my devices and this might not be the actual true values. I decided to share this as I promised earlier. 

Hi, today I spent about 3 hours listening to different DAC and Amp and finally got these two babies.

Spend a lot of time ABing 01 and 02. I finally pick MUSES02. OPA627 isn't really my taste at all.

01 and 02 are very similar. Both of them are kind of brighter than OPA627. Using my W4R, I was able to listen straight out of the line out with reasonable amount of volume and compare the different between all three of them. In the end, MUSES02 is the winner.

Sad news.  My National is DOA!!. I need to ship them back to the shop for replacement. Hope that I can get the new one on Wednesday. The good news is that my MH335DW will be back tomorrow.

I don't have the GoDap, but on my Dr.DAC2, I tried both the MUSES02 and the OPA627.  I prefer the MUSES02. 

Can someone who is has heard and is familiar with all the iDevice dac's tell me which they prefer? Even take a step further and tell me how they differ sonically?

I'm talking about: Sony PHA-1, HP-P1 (Dac section), Alo CLAS Solo, VentureCraft?

I'm trying to decide which dac will suit my needs the best. Right now I have the HP-P1, but feel as though the clarity are detail retrieval is not quite up to par. I also feel as though the amp section of the HP-P1 lacks some bass impact.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm alright, I might have to give this VentureCraft a shot. Looks like the general consensus is that the best op amp is the upgrade MUSES 01 / 02. Between, the later posts favoring the 02. If I were to use my Rx II amp coupled with the DD, I'm guessing the 01 actually might pair better?

I've search hard to find an amp which uses muses01 opamp. I think the ideal thing is to find an amp which has a matching opamp with the your DD Socekt 1. I think once the analog signals enters the amp it will greatly alter it, you will not be able to hear it for what it is.

For example something like DD socket 1+OPA 627 will go perfectly with the portaphile.

There is no volume control. Luckily, when I plug my W4R to it, the sound level is listenable. With other phones like MH335DW or TF10, it might blow my ear off.

That's true. I spent many hours switching between different amps on DD socket 1 to see that which amp will sound similar to the sound straight from DD socket 1 line out. Finally, I choose ALO the National because for my ear, it's give the closest representation to the DD socket 1 line out.
