May I know if you connect your Go Dap DD 1
Where is the position from the toggle switch ?
The correct position is : ON
if you put on : CHARGE
The battery drain very fast , because it play and charge your iPod too

But I believe that's normal behaviour. Go-Daps have never been able to be charged & used simultaneously.

Not the unit itself, I can't charge and use my ipod at the same time.

What I mean is the ipod battery is getting drained when connected to the dd 1. I tested this last night with a full charged ipod and only lasted 2 hours. Does usb transfer really that battery consuming? From 15 hours down to 2-4 hours?

Mine definitely charges and plays my ipod when I set the switch position to middle. What kind of i device are you using it with? It may be not fully compatible with the dd.? Is only officially supports the following i devices:

iPod touch 4G
iPod classic 160GB (2009)
iPod nano 6G
iPhone 3GS/4/4s

So it's normal to drain faster, just not as fast? What ipod are you using and how many hours do you get when using it by itself?

Sorry, been outta commission most of today. So there are two users with two problems :-

Audionewbi: your DD cannot charge your iPod even at the iCharge setting. When you flip does the charge icon on the iPod appear or not? Your iPod isn't rockboxed, correct? That's weird. Any other iDevice you can test to see if the DD will charge that iDevice at iCharge setting? Please don't try iPad though...that requires too much juice for the DD to charge.

Fungus: Just to paraphrase, your DD charges the iPod in iCharge mode, but your fully charged iPod (despite being charged by the DD) lasts for 2 hours only? After 2 hours your iPod dies but the DD still has enough charge to continue? Something weird is going on there.

Outta curiosity any recent firmware upgrades to the iPods? The reason I'm asking is that for iPhones when Apple upgraded iOS from 5.x to 6.x the Go-DAPs had some issue which required a firmware upgrade on the Go-DAP itself. I've not heard any issues of going from iOS 6 -> iOS7 but in your case they're iPods so I don't know what kind of firmwares are for iPods.

Can anyone explain how to properly read the battery indicator? Mine always stays the same with the two ember light no matter if it's just been full charged or about to die. Is this normal? It only turns green when plugged in the power supply and is full charged so at least I know the battery charges fine.

No, my ipod doesn't die when the dd is charging it whist using the dac, works fine. The problem is my ipod lasts for approx 14hrs by itself but when connected to the dd (not using charge function, only lasts for 3 to 4 hours. Apparently usb transfer mode is draining more battery then usual. Also I understand the dd won't operate when charging and has to be turned on to charge. When I tried to charge with the switch on charge/dac mode connected to my ipod, my ipod won't charge. Is the function not supported. It would be useful not to have to unplug my ipod and charge it separately from another power source.

Where did you buy your DD? Can you contact the makers to see if it can be fixed under warranty?
