VentureCraft new DDC/DAC Go-DAP DD Socket 1 product - Page 33

No idea, as I don't have my DD anymore for testing.  And yes I do think it could be just something left over from the X, but who knows...

Agreed. Thanks Dr Sheep. Last night I was listening to the new Jonathan Wilson's new album Fanfare and switching the mode back and forth... I can't tell you what the difference was, if any, but I can change the color now!

DD stands for dancing disco lights.

Sometimes it's a solid color (red or green) and sometimes it's a flashing red or yellow green. All very confusing. And in doing all this I noticed that the charging sign came on in my iPod even though the DD switch is at the ON position and not the iCharge position. I got it back to a non-charging status by switching off the unit entirely.

I see that you've also reached out to VentureCraft? You should have your answer by now in your e-mail :D.

Yes I did. Here is VC's answer, in effect confirming that DD stands for Dancing Disco lights!

>>>

Dear Mr. Lai,

Thank you very much for your inquiry,
The off/iCharge/on switch normally flashes red. Now it flashes green.

Altough not described in the manual, one can change the color of the
toggle switch on Go-Dap DD Socket1.
*There are no functional differences at all between the red LED and
the green LED.

To change the LED color of the toggle switch:
1. while connected with an iDevice and while the toggle switch in "ON"
position, push longer the "BATTERY" botton on the side of the unit.
2. The toggle switch LED color start blinking.
3. Set the toggle switch to "iCHARGE" position and set back to "ON"
position

Hi,

I bought the Venturecraft DD Sockets earlier this month. The off/iCharge/on switch normally flashes red. Now it flashes green.

When is it red and when is it green?

Nice, so it is indeed something left over from the X.

Note that the DD 12V LE doesn't do it though...maybe "fixed/removed" in subsequent DD versions.

Any news on whether the dd socket 1 can accept 24/96 PCM files via the onkyo app?

I already told the VentureCraft during the festival. They told me that the will ask their engineer to look at it. I'll ask them again next week.

I saw that post of yours I was assuming that they will only test with the typhoon not with the dd socket 1. I know the AKM DAC can support it but after connecting the ipod touch with the dd socket 1 I noticed that the 24/96 is changed to 24/48. The DoP is reserved for DSD files sadly. Hope I am wrong and there is a solution for it.

Thanks for sharing!  I just set mine to green.  I kind of like it better. ;)

Hi all! Think this may be documented but I've haven't really found any specific info in this thread. My current rig comprises of the iphone 5>>CLAS original>>Apex Glacier>>JH13. Am looking at the DD Muses01, wondering what the changes would be in replacing the CLAS in my setup. From what I've read, the CLAS is somewhat more clinical and aggressive compared to slightly laid back, smoother DD Muses01. Interested in knowing if this would help give some balance to the Glacier and JH13 pairing, thanks for the help!

In what way? Are you using it with iem or headphones? I'm looking to either get the DD Socket 1 + c5 or ak100mk2. Have you compared it with a RSAAK100 OR MK2?
